Even though we got rained on a bit, and I took a really stupid tumble trying to clip into my pedals in the last mile, Saturday’s 66-mile route was a lot of tough riding and fun, followed by some beer. Getting home at 4pm and worn out sealed my fate for missing the concert for which I had a ticket.
I made a rendition of a meatloaf last night, to which I added one of the spiciest jalapeño peppers that I’ve purchased in some time.
Remember friends, today is Memorial Day. So no mail, less traffic, and no banking. This also means that it’s my “official” 26th Hash Analversary; do I have to be an active hasher to celebrate? 🙂
Wordle: three, my starter was MARSH (which is what WLF may become by week’s end)
Looks like WLF received 1.5” of rain overnight, with more to come during the remainder of the week. Needless to say, my water catchments runeth over.
Wordle in 3.
The new lights in the man cave look great and can likely be seen from space. While I was in mid-install, Debbie came home from her ride and told me to go rent a scissor lift. While the tractor was working OK, the lift made it really easy and much safer.
Saturday, 25 to Grantville and Moreland and felt pretty good. That evening, we met hunt friends for dinner at a hole in the wall steak house near Hamilton. I had the fish special and it was excellent. My wallet cried..
Sunday was so mowing and finishing “The Pitt”. As realistic a medical show as I can imagine. Wow.
While the thunder woke me a couple times overnight, I never imagined we got 2.5 inches.

Betsy has told me about “The Pitt”, not my gig.
Good on you for getting out and riding on Saturday.
I saw that the rain was much worse down by you when I woke up and checked the radar around 1am.
Surprisingly quiet day, given that I doubt anyone here is working today. I should have known that this blog is little more than a diversion from work.
Not at all. It’s a social forum AND a diversion from work.
Just finished cooking bacon and eggs on the Blackstone. Still getting used to the hotspots and now know it helps to be perfectly level. I moved it when I was pressure washing the carport and it’s slightly downhill. You wouldn’t notice until you start cooking.
Where was your ride Saturday?
We did a ride called “Tower of Terror” starting and ending at Sosebee Cycling Park. The course was aptly named, with a few climbs >13%, about ten loose dogs, some chip-and-seal roads, and some dodgy highway sections.
I need to use my Blackstone. I’m waiting until after BRAG, when the weather should be too hot to cook indoors.
13%!! Probably just what you needed, but I’ll leave it for you. That’s a lot of work.
Yeah, the small front ring got quite a lot of use. It was exactly what I needed, minus falling over, to make me think that I will have a chance of surviving BRAG this year. 🙂
Hi – really late!
