BRAG Day 5: Dawsonville to Clarksville. All in all, I had a good, strong ride. This is my second time in Clarksville, BRAG came here in 2023 on the Clayton to Augusta route.

Rain came hard to Clarksville last night around 9pm. We were in the only part of the northern section of the state to get rain. My rainfly has been packed wet every day, either with internal condensation or rain. I decided to stay in my tent and organize during the deluge, missing out on the fun happening under our pop up tents. Seems when I am ready to party, the rest aren’t and vice verse.

Wordle: five, my starter was SWAMP

we never got any rain last evening –
Allan & I got out for a little walk, but neither of us were feeling it, so it was only 2 miles.
I made a (easy) rhubarb dump cake with some frozen rhubarb that’s been in my way in the freezer. Its MIL Mary’s 80th birthday today & she veto’d going out for dinner tonight. Since Allan is working today, we stopped by their house with dessert last night instead. It came out pretty good, it was a little sweet, but very tasty. (and super easy)

With rhubarb it’s better to skew sweet than otherwise anyway, I’m sure it was very tasty!

For the 1st time I did put the majority of the sugar in that the recipe called for. I’ll cut it back a little the next time. I read thru the comments about how some thought it was too sweet, but others loved it.

From Bob’s pics on the Book of Faces it didn’t look so much like a “party” as a “bunch of people staring at the rain.” But maybe I misinterpreted.

We went to Osteria 832 for dinner last night and all three of us took leftovers home that I doubt will get eaten and I’ll have to throw them away before our trip. UGH!

It was a rare night when neither of our teams were playing so we watched another episode of The Clubhouse. I also found out this week that there is a new season of Somebody Feed Phil out now, yay! He goes to Boston in the first episode, apparently!

it was later in the evening with the rain, & most of them had been drinking all afternoon/evening, so there could have been some shenanigans going on.

Wordle in 5. Like you, Barb, there may or may not have been some assistance from a spell checker. I have things to do.

Before Debbie goes off for the weekend, we needed groceries (i.e. snacks) and we went to dinner at Millers Ale House, which has been open almost a year. Not bad, not great, excellent server. Debbie had prime rib and I had a mahi sandwich. Prime rib tacos will be lunch.

There’s mowing that’s overdue and I better get on it.

ran up to Kroger for a few things (Fridays are 4x fuel points if you remember to click the coupon online – and yes – I did)
They had a DJ & loud music playing – I guess they had a “bag-off” this morning?
Anyway – it was weird – like a night club music in a grocery store.
Then – and employee started singing – a Chris Stapleton song (and wasn’t half bad) – it was bizarro world at Kroger this morning.

  6. Day 6 done. We found the heat today.
