BRAG is over, more than 330 miles of cycling and I gained two pounds, and have arms with heat rash. Our BRAG riding weather was fine, with a few nights of overnight, heavy rain.
Upon returning home Saturday I took a quick peek at WLF. The farm looked fair, though some plants look as if they were starving for water while others were so abundant that their limbs snapped. Almost immediately after I returned home and put the rain fly outside to dry, the severe thunderstorms started. I have made the first springtime harvest, however, five yellow squash/zucchini, which makes me wonder if I planted any green zucchini.
Wordle: five, my starter was COUGH
Because of Captain Tariff’s Reckless Ride, I saw a tv commercial yesterday for an automobile company that put “Free From Tariffs” into its tv commercial.
Still working on putting up all of the shit I packed and used during BRAG. This may be the worst part of it all…
yep – and where to put it so you can find it again!!!
Wordle in 4.
It really looked like y’all had a great week of weather. Saturday and Sunday’s storms would have been miserable to ride in.
After seeing Debbie off on Friday, I mowed the west pasture, got a 20 mile gravel ride in and collapsed the rest of the day! I guess it had been so hot, why I felt the need to ride then I’m not sure.
Saturday was errands and more mowing! Such fun. One pasture still to go.
I woke to no power on Sunday, so back to WH for breakfast. I started the generators in the LQ and got the Starlink set up for that rig while enjoying a little AC. Power came back on around noon.
Re-attached the windshield on my scooter and took it out for a test ride. Curiously, the MPG has been down about 10% without the windshield.. will be interested to see if that persists.

I would assume the aerodynamics of the windshield is better than without.
that trailer has some extra perks – doesn’t it???
Yeah it does… need to take it out for a spin!
busy weekend –
We did 3 hikes – all of them it was very warm.
Friday night – Gold Branch – its a little less than 4 miles, but it was plenty warm.
Saturday we decided to go to Island Ford to get our new American the Beautiful pass – & wandered that park.
Sunday we were feeling super lazy, but rallied to go out to Kennesaw Mtn – I decided to go right instead of left & it ended up being over 5 miles (though we didn’t go up to the top, wasn’t in a climbing mood.
Besides that – a birthday party Saturday night – the storm that blew thru knocked out their power – made for an interesting time with no AC & no electricity (especially as it got dark). Luckily they had a small generator, so we got some outdoor lights on.
They said power didn’t come back on until 0400am.
Not sure what changed recently, but we’ve bounced power on several occasions. Yesterday, the street ours feeds from seemed to have power. It bounced for a few seconds on Friday morning, just long enough to reset the clocks on the stove and coffee maker! Annoying.
Is there a new housing development nearby?
Speaking of new construction, it seems as if everyone wants to move to Ball Ground, GA because we rode by a ton of cleared acres and new housing. Sad.
the crazy right wing people have to get out of the liberal city…….
Not between our circuit and what was still working. And the new homes going in at the end of the other road aren’t at the point of power work yet. Just grading.
whooo hooo – wordle in 3
I harvested ten small onions today. Next year I need to fertilize more (this is a common theme for WLF). I also harvested three more yellow squash, still no sign of a green zucchini. I will take all the squash I can because soon the vine borer will arrive, and kill the plants.
Great week of riding! So much fun hanging out.
I was basically a slug yesterday, aired out the tents and cleaned up. However, cleanup was made easier by accidently leaving my laundry bag in my brothers truck. Hoping everything will be cleaned and shipped up to me 🙂
Last step will be washing my bike, that should get accomplished this evening.
I was looking in to that Sylva NC ride and it looks really fun. I’m going to run it by the scheduling committee and see what happens.
Agreed!
I will be registering for the Slyva ride this week, so if you get the okay.
We need to look into that NC ride, looks like our kind of ride – no moving camp!
I just watched most of the Apple WDC keynote.
Let me summarize it for you:
“All the exciting new Apple OS26 software (iOS, MacOS, iPadOS, etc, etc) are going to have incredible new features like ‘Liquid Glass’, Apple Intelligence, etc, etc. We’ve packed in all new features you don’t know you need and most of you will certainly never use, but get ready to buy all new hardware to run this processor-hungry software.”

PS– Unrelated, the word of the day is “Meshtastic”. <– Steve, right down your alley.
Just got home from running errands, and am watching the Keynote. It must be said that it no longer holds much excitement for me these days.
I thought you were being funny by calling it OS26, given that this should be iOS19. For some reason this jump in numbers bothers me, even if they are changing to “model year” now.
And yet they call it macOS Tahoe and not macOS 26. *face palm*
