Summertime heat is here!
I made an incredible dinner last night, Louisiana Dirty Rice. When I make this again in the future I might have to cut the recipe in half, because I have a large Tupperware filled with leftovers. Sadly, it used none of Wee Little Farm’s crops, well, maybe some garlic.
Last night was also my first Monday Night Movie Night, for which I watch a movie I’ve purchased at a thrift store during the past year. Last night’s movie choice was Best in Show.
Wordle: four, my starter was SURGE
First!
Today we are scheduled for a beer tour. First heading out for some lunch.
can’t wait to hear about the beer tour – should be fun!
In the Czech Republic? Get your Pilsner hat on! Enjoy!
Wordle in 4.
A good day on the scooter, which started badly when I dropped my iPad on the man cave floor shattering its screen.
Came across an amazing overlook over the Tennessee River. I had to double back to pull off wandered through the Huntsville space center museum was kind of unimpressed.
Meeting my artist friend at the museum later this morning, and then taking the Natchez Trace Parkway into Nashville and meeting an old coworker from the Nashville Fed.
Might get a little wet today. Oh boy.

Back from a morning beat-the-heat bike ride. I rode 24 miles, had a verbal confrontation with a driver, and got home just before shitting my bike shorts!
Driver in Avondale Estates heading toward me stopped at an All Way stop. As I noticed he was not using a turn signal I assumed he was continuing to go straight, so I kept pedaling. He then started to turn left, I hit the brakes but rolled through the intersection. He yelled at me for not obeying the laws, so I told him that if he used his turn signal I would have known he was turning! We both agreed to disagree. Nah, we both agreed that each other was a motherfucking shithead.
that sounds like a fun time this morning.
Frustration abound!
I saw another foot-tall okra plant was gone too.
It’s been a very disappointing morning, except for the fact that I have already exercised.
nothing too exciting around here yesterday – Monday’s tend to be busy work wise, so I didn’t have too much time to goof off.
Went out for some Mexican food with Allan’s parents for Father’s Day- and discussed the upcoming family gathering out in Colorado the last week of the month. Mary has her rose-colored glasses on how this is all going to work out with so many people in a not huge house……..
Bring your tent.
We paid the big bucks for Champion windows back when we 1st got this house – and they have a lifetime warranty.
So when we notice a window starts getting cloudy – we send them an email with the individual code (a pain to get to, but each window has a sticker) & they make us a new window. We ordered 4 new ones a month or 2 ago, and Allan is on the way over to pick them up. The next fun will be figuring out which one is which.
I wonder how many replacements are built into the cost of each window.
I wonder that too – I’d guess not that many people really keep up with it – and hopefully not that many windows get cloudy. it’s been about 20 years -and we’ve ordered a few new ones 3 times.
D’oh! I was going to attend an event in South Georgia on Friday and intended to get tickets today. When I went to get my ticket this morning, I was told that ticket sales had ended.
I’m a little frustrated because I could have gotten a ticket last night, but didn’t want to rush into it. I was formulating a plan which involved driving and staying overnight Thursday so I was going to get it all ironed out today. I guess it got ironed out, I’ve scrapped the entire plan.
Wordle in 2 today, with green 2nd, 3rd, and 4th letters on my first try. I almost had it in two yesterday as well, it literally came down to a coin flip between PENNY and PETTY, and I got tails, which meant I closed it out in 3. In recent weeks I’ve been playing Wordle like I’m on the Atlanta United team, unable to hit the broad side of a barn.
Lol. You got the back of the net today!
Gooooooooaaall!
All of the rain has created a bunch of tomato plan fungus, and some tomatoes which are oddly shaped and splitting.
To think I started this day will hope and looking forward to getting things done. Around every turn things have not gone my way, however.
At least the day is relatively young, so perhaps it can turn around.
Beer tour was a bit of a bust. It was more of a history and walking around tour than a beer tour. After two hours, multiple stops where we stood in the sun listening to a spiel, and only two beer stops, we peeled off.
Booo! That’s no bueno.
If I had been prepared for a full on history lesson in the blazing sun for 4 hours, I would have been fine with it. But I had my head set on trying some beers and some minor chatting.
My lunch, leftover dirty rice, is sitting like a lead weight in my belly today. I think my body is rejecting being fat.
my tomatoes have so many spider webs……..
Mine have a few as well, small spiders, not yet the jumbo garden spiders.
Going out to get a couple of tomatoes to eat with my salad dinner tonight.
i only have green tomatoes so far
