I had a very productive day yesterday.
By lunchtime I had:
– transplanted some bean plants (hopefully in an area where they won’t get eaten by a critter)
– gotten the M6’s emissions test done (it passed)
– renewed the M6’s tag for another year
– discovered I couldn’t renew my drivers license at the Kroger kiosk
– gone to Dollar Tree and purchased a bench scraper, some 70% isopropyl alcohol, and a nail brush
– mailed a letter at the Scottdale post office
– stopped at Lidl for some salad and peanuts
– attempted to propagate a raspberry plant from a current raspberry plant
I know that I am over a month early for getting my automobile tasks done, but why wait if I have the time? I need to figure out the best time to go to the DMV for my drivers license renewal.
Wordle: five, my starter was SHRED
FIRST! HAHAHAHAHAH!
Well friends, all good things must come to an end. Currently at the Prague airport waiting for our flight to Schiphol, thence to ATL. What an AH-MAZING trip!
The best thing about today is that Emory is closed for Juneteenth so I’m not getting a million work emails.
We should get home about 9:00 tonight and I plan to sleep all day tomorrow.
It was fun following your trip. What a great birthday!
We were just reflecting on what a great birthday trip it was, and now we are probably going to die in a fiery plane crash. LOL!
Safe travels
Allan went & got my emissions done & tags paid within a day or two of getting the renewal notice. He’s so on top of that sort of thing. Good luck with the DMV (and, I saw a commercial, there’s going to be a TV show this fall based at the DMV, I will assume it’s a sitcom)
Went to try revolving sushi last night with Annette, it could be expensive, as it’s $3.29 per little plate, and so many choices, but we didn’t grab too many and over eat.
I am also an immediate tag renewal person. And I’m currently in a state of anxiety because I left the country with a valid driver’s license and am returning with an invalid driver’s license. I hope my new license came in the mail while I was gone!
I am hoping to avoid having a drivers license mailed to me. I just can’t trust the post office any longer.
if you go to the DMV – they hand it to you. And -they will NOT retake your picture, so you get what you get.
That’s exactly what I want, and, I get to look as like I’m 49 for another eight years!
They did not hand me my license, and they did take my picture. I’m sure it’s because I changed my name.
Barb, I noticed the revolving sushi place last night when Debbie and I were walking into the Dixie Tavern and wondered about it. Funny timing.
Paulie, you can renew your driver’s license at the Kroger Citi Center kiosk on Cleaveland Ave or whatever street it’s on, down in the ‘hood. The Glenwood Kroger only offers tags.
what time were you at Dixie Tavern? I joked with Annette we should go get another drink there after dinner.
We got there at 8:15, left around 9:45.
Interesting. Thanks, I may go to CitiCenter, or I may just go to the DMV. Ah the joys of being unemployed!
In my experience, the Conyers DMV is worth the drive. When I took my youngest to get his permit a few months ago, we walked in and were immediately directed to a window, zero wait time. I’ve only had that once, but I’ve had the least soul-sucking DMV experiences there, so it’s my go-to.
I wondered if I could wedge it in to this adventure that I am taking, but it was too much to plan. Conyers could be an option, and then I can do my Harbor Freight / Tractor Supply tango.
Impromptu trip up onto the roof finished. I noticed that I had some trees trying to grow in the gutters, so I had to get up there with some 30% vinegar to kill them. Gutter screens make it impossible for me to clean out the gutters by hand.
Wordle in 4.
Good morning from a very wet rally. It came down for a moment really hard last night, and was a pretty light rain all night. Waiting on another heavy line, then done. And sadly, the tent isn’t water tight, but I slept pretty well.
Volunteering again today. They seem less organized than the Games, but our advantage is the same venue every year. They don’t have that, which is part of the problem.
Safe travels, Jenka. Is was a great vicarious trip for us!

Thank youuuuuuu! Currently at 30,000 feet having just left Amsterdam.
wordle in 4 – wasted the 3rd guess, didn’t use a letter I knew was right. Ooops
I seem to be the only one who really struggled today with Wordle. For the past few months I’ve been playing in a self-imposed Hard Mode, where I must use whatever information I know with each successive guess.
I got lucky with my 2nd guess – then screwed up my 3rd.
I somedays I struggle……….
Took me 5 too. My brief hot streak has ended.
Paulie I signed up for the Cycle NC ride in Sylva. I have to be back home on Sunday but will be there Friday and Saturday nights camping.
Travis and his buddies went on a beach trip so Laura and I are heading to the mountains. Going to spend a couple nights at Mulberry Gap. Mountain bike shuttle on Friday and Motorcycle ride on Saturday. Going to do my best to get back for Wheelhopper on Sunday, we will see.
did you rent a cabin up there? or are you tenting it?
Tent camping, looks to be nice with all camping by a river.
Nice. I will be registering next week.
Volunteer shift 2 complete. Ice and water replenishment to various locations. Pretty boring. Now on to the laundromat- right across from the site. Handy. Wash cycle 25 minutes! What a country!!
gotta keep wearing the BMW tshirt? 😉
See, lavanderias / Waschsalons / laundromats aren’t that bad… 🙂
On an adventure. Details tomorrow…
I am going to have to rant again about how much people charge for a pretzel and small tin of beer cheese. Where I am currently is charging $14! I don’t care how goddamn big the pretzel is, that way too much. Hell, they charge $10’for a burger and fries, and $11 for a sausage dog with fries!
