It’s pretty rare to have two separate events fall into place nicely. The other day I bought a concert ticket to see the band Chatham County Line in Brevard, NC on August 29, and a ticket for the SC Paw Paw Festival in Taylors, SC on August 30. That weekend is now sorted! In fact, all but one of my August weekends are booked. Now to figure out where I will be next Tuesday for my sixtieth birthday…
The pickle worms have won the cucumber war, unfortunately. No jars of pickles for me this year. đ I will have to figure out a new strategy next year.
Wordle: FAIL, my starter was ALIAS
This morning was supposed to be a Waschsalon morning. It would be the perfect day to do it since itâs a TdF rest day. However, I slept poorly and woke up feeling like a lump of shit. This might have been caused by walking up to Midway to drink with the Moonlight hashers. So, I decided that it could wait. I will admit this is one of the extremely rare times I miss having utilities to utilize (natch!) at home.
Wordle in 6 and I had some help- the word was not in my vocabulary.
Wait, you met up with the Moonlight hash? Who are you???
Another hot 18 miles last night. I don’t ever recall puking on a ride, but last night I was wondering if I would. I was pushing at times and cruising at times, so maybe pushing too hard?
Today’s rest day today and I think a short TT tomorrow means there might be watching a good mountain stage on Thursday. Friday’s TdF watching will be delayed by a colonoscopy! yippee.

Wordle in 6 and as that word isn’t in my vocab, a little help.
Another hot 18 miles last night. Enjoying riding on some road that are normally too much traffic and poor sightlines- they are replacing a bridge on 54, just north of Luthersville and the detour takes folks out to 27. I can ride to the bridge and turn, then take a nice piece of gravel to get around.

Nice save. I âthoughtâ of that word, but honestly it would have been my seventh guess after a different, similarly spelled word.
I did an hour on the trainer. I intend to suffer in the heat tonight with the Tuesday night gang at Meltons.
It doesnât take much time for me to be outside and begin to sweat profusely.
Actually in the office today. Actually I WAS in the office, but the sitter got stuck in traffic and Kevin has a 10:00 hearing, so I had to come home. I will not get into my thoughts on why the sitter did not leave earlier, considering how everyone knows Atlanta traffic is bad.
Sushi last night as usual. No baseball so we watched an episode of the new season of Somebody Feed Phil.
There was âbaseballâ, some nonsensical All Star Game skills competition. Hahaha
Bummer about the sitter.
Yes, it was the Home Run Derby. The Home Run Derby is dumb.
well that stinks about the sitter.
Boston traffic is HORRIBLE as well – but we still made it to the airport in plenty of time.
I just saw something about Somebody Feed Phil – I wonder if it was at a place in Maine?
Yes, Boston traffic, especially heading to the airport, is truly horrible. I don’t take a car to the airport anymore unless it’s early in the morning. And these days I often fly into Hartford instead.
and – there are NO GAS STATIONS in Boston, I don’t know how there are so many cars. Trying to find gas on the way to the airport from the Boston Common area was comical – there is a very busy gas station right near the rental car return, so we go gas there.
It was nuts last year (at about this time) when we were there, and we’re used to crazy Atlanta traffic. This was a whole order of magnitude higher (and stupider).
Sitter showed up almost at 10:00, and I am back in my office.
back working –
flight was basically on time – that was nice, as there were plenty of delays yesterday.
Connie & Maya’s fight was about an hour late.
I don’t know how I’m going to get everything ready for parties all weekend – but we will figure it out & do it!!!
If anyone reading here wasn’t on my FB event – I didn’t leave you off on purpose. Let me know, I’ll send you the details
What time Friday and Saturday?
friday – 6pm or whenever
Saturday – probably the same –
this party is very unplanned
Thank you!
Crap. I hadn’t replied to the FB event yet because I was trying to use the Saturday party as a way to get out of another obligation that afternoon, but I can’t do 6:00 pm. Oh well. Have fun, looks like you will have a good turn out!
we will be here – if we start much earlier – everyone will have heat stroke……..
I sometimes watch SFP when on the trainer and I made Debbie watch the episode when he was in Scotland. It’s amusing… a different take on cooking shows which we like.
He is just so happy and full of joy. And he wants to lift everyone up, not crush them down. We should all lift each other up.
Exactly. I’d like to hope he’s really like that, as I don’t think you could get away being completely fake in that situation.
finally remembered-
there was a sign about Somebody Feed Phil at Red’s Eats in Wiscasset
I looked it up, he goes to Maine in season 5. The description of the episode is “Phil visits Maine, where he feasts on butter-drenched lobster rolls before visiting his cousins’ farm.” Maybe I’ll re-watch it, I don’t really remember the episode!
I’m watching it now- more places we didn’t get to!
Just made a batch of Syracuse Salted potatoes, using two pounds of WLF purple potatoes, that I am eating with some corn on the cob cooked in the air fryer. When I am done I will have the fun of cleaning off the dried salt from the pot and stovetop.
LOL. Those of us who are from/lived in northern NY just call them salt potatoes.
Give the âcuse the respect it deserves! Lol
What do you call a Cuban sandwich in Cuba? A sandwich.
Hey, I give ‘Cuse mad respect, I even have a master’s degree from Syracuse University. In unrelated news, I love salt potatoes and make them frequently, to Kevin’s delight. As you may know, he grew up an hour north of Syracuse.
we had salt potatoes at a restaurant in Maine – they were good!
This high heat and lack of rain is brutal on WLF, even though I irrigated this morning.
