While driving this weekend I listened to Pat Benatar’s “Crimes of Passion” album. It was then I realized that this album was released 45 years ago, which also meant that come this November it will be 45 years since I went to my first concert. Yowza.

Wordle: four, my starter was COUGH (another solution from my word list that I failed to choose on the correct day)

  1. I knew I should have immediately gone back and claimed the 6’ metal ladder I saw on my walk yesterday, but I didn’t, and it was gone this morning.

Wordle in 4. I had to throw something against the wall to see what stuck and it was a help.

Dermatologist visit was an all clear, though I did get a slap on the wrist for working in the sun Saturday without a hat. In our conversation, I learned she lives in town (west side) and commutes to Newnan. I find that odd.

Off in a few to another follow up with the ophthalmologist! I’m about over these regular visits for not a lot.

    • She’s a hipster? Hehehe

I had two possibilities for my fourth guess, thankfully I chose the correct one.

Some people prefer a reverse commute. Technically Kevin’s is a reverse commute but he has to go up the connector so it’s not much use until it splits.

      • Technically I had a reverse commute when I worked near Perimeter Mall. That wasn’t evident given the many hours I spent in my car stuck in traffic, commuting to home. It was one of the leading candidates for me quitting my job in 2016, not knowing the office would be closed two months after I did.

      • Steve says:

It just struck me as odd… I understand reverse commutes “in town”, but this seems like a long way to go. And if she is heading to the Westside through downtown? A regular nightmare as I go south in the afternoons.

  3. It’s more than a wee little bit humid out in Wee Little Farm this morning…

  4. Because they keep predicting rain I have halted my watering of WLF, and then the rain doesn’t come? Frustrating.

Went to Firepit on Memorial with my friend Sarah last night. Tried the teriyaki lemon pepper wings, which were delicious. She’s leaving for her big 50th birthday trip tomorrow so we didn’t hang out long as she had things to do. A few days in Paris followed by four days walking the El Camino to finish in Pamplona.

    • Firepit is near Oakland cemetery? I always thought that it was a pizza joint, not that you can’t make wings in a wood fired oven as well, I suppose.

      • Jenka says:

It’s called Firepit Pizza Tavern and they do have a full list of pizzas, but they have other stuff too. We had two kinds of wings and then shared the french dip sandwich. The fries were amazing.

  6. From an email I received today:

Generation Green (Gen Green) is a space for Georgians aged 25–40 who want to explore the outdoors, learn about the environmental issues shaping our state, and give back to the places we love.

I’m twenty years too old to join, why the fuck are you sending me this invitation?!?!

  7. The Mets have lost seven games in a row, and start a series with the Braves tonight. Looks as if they will have a ten game losing streak by later in the week.

    • Barb says:

I thought the Braves weren’t any good this year – maybe ther will have a chance?

      • No matter team strengths, the Mets never have luck beating the Braves.

        • Jenka says:

It just feels that way because you are a Mets fan. The Braves have just as much trouble beating the Mets. This series is likely to be a dud. But whoever wins it will get a boost.

          • I just looked it up, since 1962 (when the Mets entered the league) the Braves are 517-422 against the Mets.

Since 2000, the Mets have had a better win/loss record against the Braves in only four years, and the teams had equal win/loss records against one another twice; that leaves sixteen years where the Braves had a better record against the Mets.

          • Jenka says:

I stand (sit) corrected! Maybe it’s because I’ve only really been watching the Braves since 2005-ish.

Another excellent bulgogi taco lunch at Hankook. Dang those tacos are tasty.
