Yesterday I helped a buddy out by chauffeuring him to and from his surgery. My day started with a 4:00am wake-up call so that I could be at his house by 5:00am, and at the hospital by 5:30am. I wasn’t surprised to see that the hospital offers translation services to its patients, via phone, but was surprised to see that German was not among the list of twenty or so languages offered. Hell, there was even a language called “Karen”, assumably spoken only by forty-something-year-old white women, of which I had never heard!

Other than that, I made my first attempt at pickling carrot sticks, sadly not with WLF carrots.

Was looking into a mid-week campsite last night thinking that with kids in school there would be ample availability in mid-May. Boy was I ever wrong about that! I’m trying to reserve a Wednesday and Thursday night outing at Hamburg State Park, in order to get in a pre-BRAG dry run for all of my camping gear, as well as potentially two or three, admittedly flat, bike rides.

Wordle: three, my starter was ANISE

Wordle in 2!! A good day for a regular starting word.

A slow day “in the office” followed by an afternoon and evening of mowing the front pasture. I fired up the tractor and started to mow, but noticed a distinct mohawk pattern. 3 blades in the mower, but the middle one was not turning. Back to the shop for a little repair/tightening.

I don’t know if you watch many “nature” shows, but we have been enjoying “The Americas” on Hulu. Great photography.

Had the Subaru at the shop for oil change, & whatever else, and they say we need tires.
Since I bought the tires at Discount Tire, and I’m too lazy to look up when we bought & how many miles on them, we have an appt for a rotation tomorrow & we will see what they say. I bought the warranty, so maybe we will get a discounted set if we really need tires that bad. Had TJ drop me off since Allan was at work.

A bar that a couple friends hang out at is next door, so I text them, and 1 of the 2 were there – so I had an impromptu happy hour drink.

Wordle in 4 – not my day

I thought my windshield wiper fluid was out so Kevin topped it up. He said it only took a little bit of liquid. Sure enough, it’s just not working. Yesterday I had to stop at a gas station to clean my windshield just to be able to drive. I could use an oil change, you think a jiffy lube place could fix it?

Sushi for dinner last night then home for another episode of The Clubhouse, A Year with the Red Sox. It’s very good, for any baseball fan!

Might just be crud (a technical term) in the line. See if you can hear the little pump motor coming on when you push the button for spritz. Jiffy Lube should be able to handle it if it’s simple.

      • Jenka says:

        “Crud” = term of art.

Yes, I can hear the little whirring, so I thought it might be crud. Even that is beyond Kevin’s ability, so if I can’t find it myself I will stop into my oil change place and see if they can do it.
