I spent all morning doing yard work, including mowing the front yard and cleaning up Wee Little Farm.
I then met my friends for lunch at Lan Zhou Ramen on Buford Highway; damn it was good.
My day out ended at Highland Tap. My buddies tried to go to the Clairmont, I declined, but were too early and they weren’t open yet.
It turned out to be a good thing that I returned home and diligently started doing my chores, because around 8:30pm the power went out and wasn’t restored until a little after 11:00pm.
Wordle: six, my starter was DRIFT. Admittedly I played Wordle poorly today.
Wordle in 6. My starting word caused a problem.
Another day trying to solve problems. One of our new switches doesn’t want to talk nice to the main switch. Supposedly, I fix will be installed Sunday, but I don’t understand what is broken that this will fix. I may be back next week, as a vendor who needs access will begin work and one of the locals is on PTO.
The boss took us to dinner at a Venezuelan restaurant. Pretty tasty.
Barb, I may meet Allan at the station when I get in but I may be smelling the barn and heading for home.

ummmmm Steve – like he cares what you smell like? Do you know his line of work?
Anyway – he was planning on taking the bike with him to the station, I doubt he will want to bring it back to Marietta.
Just call him.
Hello from a Waffle House in Anderson, SC. I ate breakfast before departing the ITP Estate, so I’m here only for coffee and a chance to get out of the car.
Once again Waffle House proves why it should be used as a PSA for getting a good education and not ending up working in a Waffle House.
you know, some people that work at Waffle House aren’t that bad, we’ve had some decent experiences in the last couple years.
Not saying they are bad, just seems to be a lot of drama.
LOL, once again I was 100 feet from you at Barbacoa. Although I had to work late so we didn’t get there until like 7:00, you were probably gone already.
Today we head up to the cabin for the holiday weekend. You may remember that we had new appliances installed in May but that Lowe’s is not allowed to install a gas stove and the gas company would not commit to coming out on the only day we were up there. PLUS the propane converter I had ordered had not arrived yet. Well, the converter is sitting in the East Ellijay Lowe’s waiting for pickup and we have an appt with the gas company to do the install at 3:00 today. Fingers crossed it all actually happens. I’m at the office until 11:00 and then we’re hitting the road.
good luck with all the coordinating in Ellijay today!!!!!
Hope it all works out. Having a working stove is a good thing – right?
Usually.
However in this case if it doesn’t work out we will be eating cheese and crackers for three days, so yes. Hah!
No microwave in the cabin? C’mon… you’re in the woods, build a fire!!
Yes, I’m exaggerating, of course! There’s a microwave and a grill.
Just saw on the Machine of Faces that a huge tree branch took out the power lines on Flat Shoals last night. Power was down in the Village as well.
Ah. I heard via Betsy that a transformer had blown. I was just glad it wasn’t only my house as confirmed by neighbors also getting out of their house to see if it was just theirs.
I actually left the house & went & had a margarita with a friend for happy hour last night. That is the total of my excitement yesterday.
Connie’s flight is at 1 pm, so we get to have an adventure with Dad & leave the house!
wordle was a bust –
Hello from a diner somewhere in North Carolina. My lunch plan changed from “make a tomato sandwich at a rest area” to this when I realized that I didn’t pack everything I needed to make my sandwich. D’Oh!
Food here must be good, the Fair Grove Fire Department, or at least five of them, just entered the building.
And Thomasville Fire is leaving!
I was hoping to see a FD Turf War! 😀
Wordle was a real scumbag today.
Lol
I’ll speak of my starting word tomorrow, if I remember.
At the airport already and just as I arrived, got notice of a 2 hour flight delay. BIG storm rolled through here, still a bit rainy.
Fires are mostly out at the office. I dont think I’ll have to come back next week. At least I hope.
Safe travels. Hope your delay isn’t as long as advertised.
