I’ve discovered that my price threshold for concerts these days is around $40, which means I doubt that I will be seeing many more concerts during the rest of my life.

I think I have lost my RoadID. I was hasty getting packed in Sylva, and may have dropped it on the ground? Not only will this be a $30 mistake, but I won’t be able to buy an exact replacement because they don’t make that style any longer.
Irony:
Lost RoadID that nobody notifies or returns to you (if found).

True, but its real benefit is identifying me if I am unconscious after a bike wreck.
Wordle in 3 and 1 letter away from a deuce!
Not much to report today. The scooter now has a license plate- to the tune of $461!
If the weather doesn’t break, I will be on the trainer tonight!
Barb, I hope the weather is better in Iowa.

weather here has been PERFECT – in the 70s & no rain at all. Today will be a little warmer – high of 81. 😉
Perfect here too, if you are a frog or duck…
Hopefully you find your Road ID in your shoe or tucked in a corner somewhere. You may also be able to email the organizers, that park is pretty small and somebody can do a quick sweep to see if it is there.
I bought a Ride Wrap kit for the new bike and applied it last night. Was easier than I expected and now I have some frame protection. Also attempted to make the new wheels tubeless but ordered the wrong valves. New ones should show up Wednesday.
Once this rain goes away we will need a week to let the trails dry out, I’m getting antsy!
Yeah, I should contact the organizers. I will turn everything inside out today, and contact them tomorrow if I can’t find it. It was a very sloppy weekend for me, I constantly misplaced, temporarily lost, items; this is unusual for me.
I know it’s probably not the smartest spot, but I leave my road ID on my handlebars after I ride -it hasn’t disappeared yet.
Opportunity for RoadID with provision for Apple AirTag?
73 de JG/HamWithCam
An AirTag seems to be too bulky for a RoadID. They have a badge than can be clipped onto an Apple Watch band, but I really don’t want to wear my RoadID every time I put on my watch.
I have airtags on my bikes now.
My RoadID is a velcroed ankle bracelet, which I usually put into my bike bag when I take my shoes and socks off. However, due to the fact that my car wasn’t near the park in which we camped, I too my socks and shoes off at the car and threw a lot of things into the trunk and car. I then hastily moved wet things from the inside of the car to the trunk, so I may have dropped it in doing that.
My RoadID is attached to my shoelaces on my cycling shoes so it is totally set and forget. So much so that it startled me when I noticed it one day after my divorce and realized I needed to update it.
Mine is velcro too – like I said – it may not be smart, but its always on my handlebars on the back of the car (and hasn’t disappeared yet)
Nothing exciting going on here – tomorrow morning way too early I fly home.
BUT – when checking in – I did get upgraded to 1st class. Cushier seat for that 1.5 hr flight.
Dad is doing the same & different, some days he’s pretty alert & sort of knows what’s going on, other days, not so much.
Dan & I took him on a wheelchair ride around the complex – that place is huge, has a lot of senior living apartments, and of course assisted living, memory care & nursing care.
The senior living area is really nice
Just not having people rubbing up against you at 5:00 am is worth first class. In my opinion.
No joke, concerts these days are astronomical. I read an article a couple months ago about how concert prices are insane but Gen Z considers it to be a valuable use of their money so they’re willing to spend it. Fucking kids these days.
… and get off my lawn!!
HAHAHAH, it’s so true!
Huh, I guess since they don’t drink beer…
The last two concerts I looked into were each $65, and that is “cheap” considering some of the other tickets I looked into recently. I will resign myself to wait hung up-and-coming or has-been bands at small venues like The EARL.
I dunno, saying I won’t pay more than $40 to go to a show feels like saying I’ll never buy a candy bar again unless I can pay a quarter. An alternative would be to set an annual concert budget, and you see however many shows fit the budget.
To each their own. I am not sure that there is a band I want to see so badly that I will pay (much) more than $40. Remember, $40 is my ticket price, so you have to add in any additional costs like beer, food, parking.
since the only way for artists today to make money is to have concerts – with streaming – no one is buying music – I understand the prices, I just will rarely want to pay that much.
I agree.
Made a pizza for lunch. I bought an (unfortunately) pre-rolled pizza dough, as opposed to a ball of dough, from Publix. All of the toppings, with the exception of the cheese, were from WLF! This was far from the best pizza I’ve ever eaten, but it was still good.
For the toppings I used tomatoes (it was a sauceless pie), jalapeño pepper, red bell pepper, log purple eggplant, and basil.
We buy those all the time and really enjoy them. They can get too stuck together and we have had to toss a few. Not sure if the ball vs. the pre-rolled is better. I need to work on making my own dough, as it can’t be that hard.
Concerts are free if you do it my way 🙂
Lol
LOL! Best seat in the house!
I do need to go to a concert with you someday -its been a while since I’ve sat on the hill.
going with my brother to get something to eat & sit on a patio – I’m going to miss this gorgeous weather
