Rollercoaster Of Feelings

That’s how it seemed to go yesterday…

J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!
I know, they suck. However, I think I know two people who were especially sad with the outcome of Sunday’s Chargers v. Jets game, and I am not talking about the score. With one more whack to his head long-time, undersized, blue-collar Jets receiver Wayne Chrebet suffered another concussion, this one is likely to end his career.

I am one of the people saddened at this turn of events. For those of you who saw me at the Jets v. Falcons Monday night game a few weeks ago know that I proudly wore my replica Chrebet Jets jersey to the game to show support for my team. The other (I will assume) was the young lady at Twains who showed her Jets support by wearing her Chrebet Jets jersey to the bar on Sunday.

I Object!
Actually, I didn’t object at all. Yesterday was a fantastic day in the Courthouse on the square of Decatur for me. I sat in a large room with 300+ of my closest friends until around noon when the woman in charge said “The rest of you are dismissed and can go home.” That’s right, I never even made it to Round Two of juror selection. This may mean that my name can reappear on the list sooner, but maybe not. Who knows?

I only wish that I could have the same success when dealing with my dentist later this week. Sadly, I already know that I won’t.

How To Spoil A Perfect Day
I knew I didn’t want to run. However, I skipped Sunday, so I needed to run. The weather was perfect, so there was no reason not to run. So I attempted a run.

What a mistake.

One of the problems of living where I do is that there are few flat roads around me. Whether the elevation changes be gradual or steep, natural or artificially created, they are there and they make my running that much poorer. I think that I might also have to come to the realization that I will never run like I used to. Advancing age is probably the reason, but I cannot give up because once I do I might as well quit.

But There Can Be A Silver Lining
Completely dejected I returned home and decided to check email to see if there was any interest in going to see Pigeon John and Matisyahu at The Roxy last night.

While there was no email regarding the concert, there was one that lifted my spirits. It was from one of my long-time friends Suzanna with whom I have done a poor job of staying in touch and haven’t seen in far too long.

Multipurpose Marta Doors
Holy shit, sharpen those things up and they would make great guillotines! This morning I tried to go to one car past the bottom of the stairwell and of course there were people crowding the doors while the middle of the car was wide open. When I got halfway into the car the doors shut, slamming into my right shoulder (the left 2/3rds of my body was already in the car). I had to literally kick the door with my right foot to get the doors to reopen.

Another Dismal CD Tuesday
Yikes! Here is the list of people/bands that are releasing CDs today

  • Bell Orchestre
  • Kate Bush
  • Kenny Chesney
  • Comet Gain
  • Neil Diamond
  • Menomena

Hey RIAA at least you don’t have to worry about me stealing any of this crap, it’s not worth the hassle for me.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – behind
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Matt Pond PA — “Halloween” (hasn’t that already passed?)
Website Of The Day – Check out the Tiki Bar Vidcast. It’s weird, it’s funny, it’s worth checking out. I am sure it would look sweet on an iPod with video. If someone would like to buy me a 60GB model so I could try it out, I wouldn’t object.

If you ever want a quick glance of the sites I’ve picked for my Websites Of The Day, you can check them out on del.icio.us, my user name is InsideThePerimeter (go figure), and they are all tagged as “blogged.”

Exercise (b)Log – approximately 6.4 miles of running with too much walking

Cheers!
