I Guess There Was Supposed To Be A Title Here…

What Can I Say, I Love It When I Hear My Name Called Out
Last night while out running I heard someone shout out “Paulie.” I believe I heard the person say he was Oliver (reader, and blogger?). I was dead tired (after two miles?) and not wearing my prescription glasses, so Oliver if it was you forgive me for not recognizing you immediately.

Try As I May, Try As I Might
The alarm goes off for the first time at 5am. I manage to turn it off and ignore it until the second alarm sounds at 5:30am. Even on the best of mornings when I’ve gotten enough sleep and get out of bed immediately I cannot seem to get out of the house before 6:30am. Hrmph. I guess there are too many things for me to accomplish — shave, shower, update iPod, pack “gym” bag — before I leave the house, but I remember being able to do these things, sans iPod update, in a much shorter time. Hell, I used the be at the gym for aerobics for a 6:30am class back in the old days.

Why It’s Good To Be My Friend
If you like going to plays and concerts it’s good to be close to me. In fits of optimism I usually purchase two tickets to said events. Currently have a pair of tickets to the following event with no idea who will be joining me

  • “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” (Alliance Theatre)
  • The 2006-2007 season at the Hertz Theater
  • Sufjan Stevens (The Fox)
  • plans to give away any extra tickets to the Louvre exhibit when it makes it to the High Museum

Is this a pathetic attempt to get people to like me? Hell fucking yeah it is! 🙂

Of All The Nights To Have An Earl-y Show…
I’m trying hard to be good and get my daily/nightly exercise. As I said earlier in this post I was out huffing and puffing around the Highlands last night. Because of this I missed the Camera Obscura at The EARL last night. Unlike most shows at The EARL, this was an early show (the venue was double-booked) so I couldn’t get home from running and shower in time to make it to the show. Too bad, I would have liked to see Camera Obscura. Anyone out there reading this make it?

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – bothered
Current Music – None, I’m listening to the Tour de France
Website Of The DayCommentful looks like it might be a very useful app for getting notified when people comment on URLs that you specify. I’ve signed up for an account today and will be trying to run it through its paces soon. (thanks to Paul Stamatiou for blogging this site)

If you ever want a quick glance of the sites I’ve picked for my Websites Of The Day, you can check them out on del.icio.us, my user name is InsideThePerimeter (go figure), and they are all tagged as “blogged.”

Exercise (b)Log – running/walking, approximately 4.75 miles

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Where is the Hertz Theatre? Do they have the new season’s shows listed yet? Don’t tell Allan, but I’m ready to branch out after 6 years of Shakespeare Tavern season tickets. But, next season the Tavern does have some of my favorite comedies….. if you ever want to join us there…..

The Hertz Theatre is the small-theater counterpart to the Alliance. Both are located at the Woodruff Arts Center next to the High Museum.

Their 2006-2007 schedule should be posted and season and individual show tickets should be on sale now. If I remember correctly, the Hertz’ season consists of three or four plays, including “Glengarry Glen Ross”, my all-time favorite movie and the play I travelled to NY to see last summer.

btw- I’m always game for Shakespeare Tavern, let me know when you kids are going.

  3. Oliver says:

Yep, that was me. We were on our way to a pick-up soccer game over at Iverson Park. The heat was brutal yesterday, but the exercise was much needed. I’m much better at the running thing when there is a spherical object to be chased and breaks in the action when I can catch my breath.

I’ve heard about this game of which you speak, I’m just not sure where I’ve about it. 🙂

  5. friday? earl? maybe?

  6. Most likely FAB. I think I’ll also be there tonight for National Grain (who for some reason I thought was playing there tomorrow night otherwise I would have mentioned it in the blog today).

oh sheeeesh– i’d love to tag along to sufjan.

then again, we’ve never met, and just barely emailed, so i don’t know if it’s fair in blog/email/www-world to raise my hand and say ‘oh! yes! i wanna go!’

that said, oh, yes, i really wanna go.
(but any one that knows you in any way whatsoever, they {oh.so.obviously} get dibs)

  8. Kathleen, you are the current frontrunner for the Sufjan ticket. However, I must warn you that at this time I make no guarantees.

I saw the Camera Obscura show at the Earl. Very good – so good that I bought their latest cd and have been listening to it nonstop ever since. And the best part about it was that I was in bed by 10:30 pm! Once upon a time, that would not have been a draw.
