Still Not Acclimated

Two days on Mountain Time has taken its toll on me. If you’ve noticed all of today’s posting errors you most certainly would agree. 🙂

I woke up later than desired this morning, and had only enough time to stop in to say hello to Ellen at Joe’s while getting coffee as I headed into work.

Planes, Trains, And Automobiles
That’s the best description of my day yesterday. My first flight was from El Paso to Dallas and departed at 6:57am. I caught my connection at Dallas without incident, but on this flight I was seated next to someone who needed a seatbelt extender. As an aside, as America gets fatter will the airlines require wider seating or will they have to limit the number of passengers based on weight at some point in the future?

Back in Atlanta, I hustled onto a North Springs Marta train which was getting ready to depart.

Once back at my office near Perimeter Mall I hopped into my car and drove back ITP.

I made it home with plenty of time to head back out for a run at George’s but for some reason sitting in a plane for hours made me very tired.

Welcome Back, Flickr
I go away for a couple of days and Flickr gets its Internet tubes clogged like a fat person eating a fully loaded baked potato with extra sour cream? Yikes!

Perhaps it’s just as well seeing how I failed to take a single picture (only had my point-and-shoot with) in El Paso. Did you know that El Paso is in a desert? I did. Did you know that there is a small mountain range that runs through El Paso? I did not.

I really wish that I had packed my camera for the El Paso trip. Oh well, at least I will for Chicago next week.

It’s A Small Town Afterall
On Monday I wore my Black Sheep crew-neck shirt acquired at the “Broke Black Mountain” campout held some months ago. Our new HR person asked me what Black Sheep meant and I explained that it was a hashing group. Quick to make sure she understood that I wasn’t referring to drugs, I asked her if she had heard of hashing to which she said that she had.

Margot told me that her old boss used to be a hasher, but couldn’t remember her hash name; she told me that her first name was Jean. I quickly responded with “You worked at Children’s Health Care of Atlanta?” to which she answered “Yes.” I laughed heartily because I knew exactly who she meant, Sanitary Not!, who is the woman who gets the credit for convincing me into going to my first hash seven years ago.

It is a small town afterall…

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – rushed
Current Music – none, listening to the Tour De France
Website Of The Day – Now that Flickr is back up you should head to Flagrant Disregard’s Flickr Toys to make your photos even better.

If you ever want a quick glance of the sites I’ve picked for my Websites Of The Day, you can check them out on del.icio.us, my user name is InsideThePerimeter (go figure), and they are all tagged as “blogged.”

Exercise (b)Log – none

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]
