Wherefore Art Thou?

I’ve been inspired by the mailer which found its way to my mailbox yesterday. The next play to be performed at the Shakespeare Tavern is “Romeo and Juliet.”

Wherefore Art Thou Ellen?
My stops at East Atlanta’ Joe’s Coffee Shop have been a little less pleasurable in the past few months because the lovely Ellen no longer seems to work there (at least the early morning shift). I’m a “drink my coffee black” kinda guy so it doesn’t really matter who draws the java into the cup, but as you might have picked up from my previous musings, I really liked Ellen.

Wherefore Art Thou Wii?
I understand why Sony had a difficult time manufacturing the Playstation3. In that instance there was a shortage of blue lasers are necessary for their BluRay discs.

Nintendo has no such excuse. Technologically speaking the Wii is the weakest system in the New World of console gamine (Xbox 360, Playstation3, Wii). Hell, the Wii doesn’t even play DVDs! Therefore I am wondering why I am still unable to purchase a Wii? It just makes no sense to me. Had the Wii found its way into stores by now I might have purchased one. The longer I have to wait, the less likely I am to buy.

Speaking of waiting… Lately I have been contemplating purchasing Guitar Hero II. I think about it, but then back off because I kinda feel like I’d be a total loser if I stayed home and jammed alone on a toy guitar. But, everyone who has played it says that it is really fun. Yesterday I heard that the game is scheduled to be released for the Xbox 360 some time in April. I guess I’ll be waiting for that…

Wherefore Art Thou New ITP Flickr Pics?
Your guess is as good as mine. I’ve got some pictures in-camera which need to get processed, but I haven’t had the motivation to do so.

Flag And Moon

There is something about the daylight moon that always intrigues me. I know why it happens, but it intrigues me nonetheless.

Wherefore Art Thou Atlanta’s Playhouses?
I’ve added a new list to the right-hand galley; this list is for Atlanta’s Playhouses. I really like to go see plays so I only think that it’s right for me to advertise for them so that they stay in business.

Hey Kathleen, what’s coming up with Out of Hand Theater?

Wherefore Art Thou Paulie
I am all over the fucking place!

Last night I hung with the hashers at George’s Bar. I miss being able to get there and run with the group. Since I haven’t been running with them I decided it was a bad idea for me to just show up and drink.

Tonight I’m hanging at home and catching up on some tv watching with friends. My crockpot is currently cooking up some beef stew for dinner. Tonight will be a multiple- episode The Office night, followed by the recording of Survivor: Fiji. (Hey Darren, I forgot that I can’t watch Survivor tonight. We could always play some Gears of War if you want to come over)

Tomorrow night will find me at the Horizon Theatre to see the play “Bad Dates” with my friend Stacy. I really want to see this play in order to find out if the dates of fictional characters are worse than the ones I have been on.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – Martarrific. Although I must admit that there is a sliver of my conscience that wonders that when I get back to the Marta parking lot tonight if I will be uttering “Wherefore art thou Jackmobile?”
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Now It’s Overhead — “Let Up”
Website Of The DayDaytrotter is a really cool site for indie music. If you like the bands that I log from Sirius 26 each day, then I think you’ll really like Daytrotter.
Exercise (b)Log – none

February Goals
1) Lose two pounds. (starting weight ~205 lbs)
2) Run no fewer than fifty miles.
3) Do twenty push-ups and fifty sit-ups at least three times a week.
4) Read two books.
5) Go to the Center For Puppetry Arts.
6) Use Marta for commuting at least one day per week.
7) Get all 2007 information into Google Calendar.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

  1. Stacy says:

psst! you spelled “Garage” wrong. yes, I’m just that anal. 🙂

  2. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

That’s the Canadian spelling. 🙂 (Thanks for the correction — I guess I am not learning much from “Eats, Shoots & Leaves”)

  3. Stacy says:

I just figured that was one of the books you didn’t read back for January’s goals. 😉

  4. Terri (SW) says:

    Why are you Ellen?

    Why are you Wii?

Why are new ITP Flickr Pics?

    Why are you Atlanta’s Playhouses?

    Why are you Paulie?

You seem to be waxing philosophical :)!

    heehee…

  5. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

I am indeed. I find that waxing philosophical is far more tasteful than waxing one’s body.

*shakes fist at all smarty-pants English majors* 😛

  6. Beth says:

By the way, in Shakespeare wherefore means “why”. In the balcony scene of Romeo and Juliet, Juliet is lamenting Romeo’s name — referencing the feud between the two families. So she’s asking WHY Romeo has to be a Montague — not where he is at that moment.

    Sorry — I couldn’t resist 🙂

Wish this had been a trivia question at some point — I might have gotten one right !

  7. Beth says:

Good grief — Terri beat me to it.

Obviously neither one of us is working very hard today!

  8. Terri (SW) says:

    Gotta love those testing days!

  9. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

    Too funny!!!

After writing today’s post I realized the error in my ways but thought it was funny to leave it as is.

I also forgot that I had you English-teacher-types out there who would be irritated by my gaff. 🙂

  10. Beth says:

    Amused — not irritated 🙂

  11. Barb says:

I just learned something new today, thanks so much girls!!
Paul – you aren’t going to watch Survivor tonight? Or did I miss understand?

  12. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

You are correct Barb, I am not going to watch tonight. I have an agreement with Cheese Nips (Stacy, commenter on this here blog) and Screams Like A Girl (Phil, who rarely comments) to wait to watch together so that we can bet on the outcome.

  13. Stacy says:

Paulie, Phil *can’t* comment, remember? He’s illiterate.

    (almost wrote “illegitimate,” heh.)

If we’re keeping you from watching tonight, I bet we could all just “call someone” to start. It’s not like we know anyone at this point anyway…we’ll all be just randomly picking a person. I’m game if you are. And Phil will be game because we’ll *tell* him. 😉

  14. Phil says:

    *evil glare*

Good thing I pay people to read for me.

  15. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

    HE IS ALIIIIIIIIVE!!! 🙂

It’s more fun to try and figure out who will get ousted from their personality. I can wait until Saturday to watch. Oh, we (you, Phil, and me) are getting together on Saturday, right?

  16. Stacy says:

Yes, sir! We need to watch and then stroll perhaps (if it’s not too cold)?

  17. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Excellent. It won’t be too cold to stroll.

  18. Andrew says:

I have a friend who swears by Guitar Hero. It was announced today that it’s coming to the Wii. Would you feel like less of a loser with this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X4tWIwx0ns&mode=related&search

  19. No Andrew, I wouldn’t feel less like a loser. In fact, I might feel worse strumming a Nintendo DS.

  20. Well, if you’d have asked Ellen out while she was working there, you wouldn’t have this problem.

  21. Hey Smoove D, you don’t show up as spam any longer. I never asked her out because I knew she was dating someone.
