Back Among The “Healthy”

It was a busy weekend for me. Did I get everything I wanted done? The height of my lawn would tell you “No.” but I did manage to get a lot of things organized and accomplished this weekend. After three days of sickness it felt great to be able to be productive again.

Speaking of being productive, thanks to last week’s illness I’m now behind schedule at work so this will be short today… Why don’t you tell me what fun things you did this past weekend?

Oh, and in case you are wondering — I did not get an iPad on Saturday. 🙁 I am pre-ordering an iPad 3G this week. 🙂

Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad
I managed to make it to two of the three concerts that I wanted to attend this weekend; at least they were the two for which I had pre-purchased tickets.

On Friday I headed to Variety Playhouse for the Midlake show. The show was pretty good, but unfortunately for me the last vestiges of my sickness hit about four songs into Midlake’s set. At that point I decided that the band sounded so much like their CDs that I would probably not miss much by leaving early and getting some much-needed sleep.

Last night I headed to Masquerade for the Ted Leo and The Pharmacists show. This was the first time that I seen Ted Leo perform and I was not disappointed.

One for the money, two for the show.
Thing One And Thing Two

It’s been some time since I’ve grilled burgers.
A Rare Clever Idea
On Saturday I figured out that if I tucked the legs of the grill under this paving stone that the grill would have increased stability and the stone would act as a heat shield for the plastic cabinet on which I was cooking.

I’m glad you’re feeling better, welcome back! Are those bottles dusty or just the Iphone playing tricks on me?

I got a lot done this weekend also. I took the day off from working out on Saturday, it helped. I still probably did too much yard work to consider it a rest day but I tried.

Yesterday, after more than two months of talking about it, cleared out the laundry/junk room. I almost filled my herbbie curbbie but there is still just too much stuff in there. I guess I really need to get some sort of shed built. At least there is room for Bode’s litter box…

Short day at the office, leaving after lunch to watch the Braves (aka drink beer)…I better find the sun screen, there money on me getting burnt today.

  2. Not dust, condensation. The camera in my iPhone is not that great. 🙁

Crap, today is Opening Day (yeah, yeah, Jenka I know the Red Sox played the Yankees last night) and I failed to mention it. Have fun and DO get sunblock because you’re not exactly “tanning stock” (nor am I).

we just rode the bikes all weekend, not enough miles on the mountain bike, but at least I got out there. I can tell pollen season has started, I just can’t breathe while trying to climb up those hills. \

Road bike ride out at Silver Comet yesterday with some people you know (Sarah, Willie, Michelle, Drew & some long lost hasher friends Arbitrary Sex & Ball Handler). We were way out in BFE (or Dallas, GA), but it is the best part of the trail, no kids or families with dogs & strollers to dodge.

Glad you’re feeling better. I managed to ride 25 or so in the wind on Saturday- I was going to head towards Senoia, but the wind direction convinced me I better head into it to start, so I took the scenic tour of Grantville.

Much concrete was pressure washed and much basketball was enjoyed. Go Butler!

Spent Easter seeing dad and cutting his grass and having lunch with friends in Decatur.

  5. I’ll be a huge Duke fan tonight. Turns out that if Duke wins I finish third in my bracket and *may* win a little money.

  6. Barb says:

Here’s how I decided on who to root for tonight – I know a guy that went to Duke, know no one from Bulter – so Go Duke! But actually, I realy don’t care, so I won’t be watching at all.

Paulie – did you finish Amazing Race? How did the cowboys make that balancing flagpoles on their heads look so easy?

  7. I have no idea how they did that pole balancing so easily. Some strange things must happen on farms…

  8. bob says:

That pole balancing was simple. Have you ever balanced a baseball bat on its end? it’s pretty easy, add length and wind resistance to the equation and you have a really simple task. Much easier than 8 or 10 trips up the stairs.

And it sucks who lost the leg, I REALLY want the models gone. They are annoying as hell.

  9. Jenka says:

Correction: the Red Sox SPANKED the Yankees last night! A great way to open the season! 🙂
