Hello Again, “Free” Exercise

After forgetting to do so in the morning yesterday I restarted my “avoid the elevator and always climb the six flights of stairs” routine at the office. Hell, it’s free exercise which is much needed at the moment.

I Actually Ordered Sushi At Sushi Yoko
I’ve been eating at Sushi Yoko for years and I’m not sure that I’ve ever eaten sushi there. Sure, the word “sushi” is in Sushi Yoko’s name so you expect it to be their speciality, but I’ve always been smitten with their Katsu Curry and order that almost every time I eat there. The sushi (lunch) was delicious, but oddly took the longest to arrive at our table of three.

Inevitably after eating I ventured over to the small grocery store called Tomato which is attached to Sushi Yoko; you should too whenever you eat at Sushi Yoko. My goal, which was successful, was to purchase a can of chilled coffee (weather is still too warm for a can of warmed coffee) and avoid purchasing any of the amazingly entertaining and delicious Japanese snack foods.

Because I cannot remember the name, I should have either taken a picture or purchased a bottle of water which was called “Something” Sweat. Odd naming conventions those Japanese have…

Five Weeks Later, Still No Prize
Remember that Food Blogger Forum that I attended on September 11th and during which I “won” a Le Creuset dutch oven? Well, five weeks later I’ve yet to receive said Le Creuset dutch over or any notification that the dutch oven will be sent to me. I’ve tried to follow up by sending a message to the forum’s organizer, but I’ve also yet to get information back from her so my hope for receiving my prize is dwindling.

Call it a minor indulgence.
Feeling Like I Need A Boost
Which is minuscule when compared to the major indulgence of as Tortas Locas Toluqueña that I ate for dinner last night at Las Tortas Locas.

I’m A Wells Fargo Customer
This weekend all of the temporary banners on Wachovia signs came down as Wachovia customers in Georgia officially became Wells Fargo customers. While driving through South Carolina a couple of weekends ago I noticed that their Wachovias had no such banners, so I guess they are still Wachovia customers for the time being. It seems weird to me that this transition doesn’t happen all at once, but I guess there is a massive amount of coordination and I’m sure there are many Government papers to file (if my little LLC fiasco is any indication) so maybe going state by state is the best way to tackle the takeover.

I’ve Become A Serious Sleeper
After getting a few things in order last night [note to self: take care of Sharpened Stone matters] I laid down on my bed with a laptop in anticipation of using my Lynda.com account [note to self: you need to do this more often to justify the $25/month expense] by watching a long tutorial about developing for iOS 4 — the current iPhone operating system. Take not that I do not find this material boring, in fact I find it intriguing as I still declare that I want to write mobile applications for profit. I was asleep in probably fewer than twenty minutes.

My sleep also ruined any notion of mounting another effort to start reading “The Power Of Positive Thinking.” Perhaps I should start practicing the power of staying off my bed so that I don’t fall asleep so early.

Trivia?
There is word on the street, actually on The Facebook that there might some trivia playing tonight at Billy Jack’sBilly Bob Thorton’s oh hell, whatever the name of Who Flung Doo’s barbecue restaurant is.

I think we will be going to trivia tonight – I asked Yassir if there were any prizes this time & any competition – and he said yes to both. We might even get our prize from that first night – that is, if Frank is there and we can harrass him about it. Now, just to decide what beverages to bring to this BYOB place……

  2. I’ll be there Barb. Trivia starts at 8pm, correct?

And the place is called “Billy Jack’s BBQ and Shrimp Co” and is still BYOB so if you plan to play trivia pack your own alcohol.

  3. Barb says:

Starts at 7:30 – and there is a Publix next door & liquor store across the street if you forget.

  4. Oops, good thing I asked. 🙂

For anyone unfamiliar with the area I suggest the package store over Publix if you are buying beer. The package store’s beer selection is far superior.

I have seen that sushi place but never ventured in. Next Games meeting I might have to give it a try.

A full 2″ of rain at JEFDSDR yesterday and most of the herd was protected- Sorry, Patton. If you don’t want to wear a raincoat then you get to stand soaked in the rain.. that’s how it works.

  6. Sushi Yoko is frequented by those of Asian descent but the waitresses seem to understand/speak English well enough to get by, you should not be disappointed.

Wow, I doubt EAV got that much rain yesterday.

  7. Martha says:

Thankfully the dogs did there outdoor business before the rains came, otherwise, I’m standing in the rain while trying to hold an umbrella over Nibbles hoping she’ll go potty.

I ended up working from home yesterday, traffic was a mess and my boss told me not to worry about it. I love that man.

I saw on Saturday the Wachovia in East Lake had changed signs but didn’t notice anything at the branch by my house.

  8. I’d be surprised if that branch didn’t change over. The “Rain Man” savant in me has been looking at each and every branch, and QT ATM, since I first noticed the temporary banners a few months ago.

  9. Steve says:

Farley spent the day in the barn and almost dug out. Strangely enough, the horses have never thought about trying to dig their way out- kick, maybe.
