Tumbling Toward Insanity

For once being a highly-organized person my current lack of organization is driving me to insanity. I know that I cannot put my life on pause until I regain my control of the things for which I can have control, but I’d sure like to try.

Cake For Dinner?
After getting my hair cut last night I headed toward DBA Barbecue for dinner. A funny thing happened along the way, I decided that I wasn’t hungry enough to eat dinner and decided to stop at San Francisco Coffee for coffee and cake instead — where, I unexpectantly (not a real word) ran into one of my co-workers.

“Which of your cakes is the most decadent?” I asked the cute girl working the counter. “I want to make this count because I’ve decided to skip dinner for this cake.” After hemming and hawing we finally settled on the Dark Chocolate Crunch, which with two cups of cup of black coffee was divine.

One of the best things about being an adult is not having to play by the rules.

I wish things were looking up for me.
Looking Up
But until they are I guess I’ll just keep trying…

Guess Who’s Going To Snowmass In 2012
That’s right, even though this year’s trip to Colorado for Colorado Invihash turned out to be a bummer I am planning on returning for Colorado Invihash 2012! In fact, I am more than planning, I have registered for the even which will take place in Snowmass, CO on Labor Day weekend in 2012.

You should consider going. I promise not to ask you to ride with me if I drive again. 😉

Play, Photos (Perhaps), Party, Relax
Tonight I’m skipping my office Christmas party and headed to the Hertz Theatre for “The Second City: Miracle On 1280 Peachtree Street”, for which I just found out I bought two tickets. I guess I was planning on trying to get a date, which after last night I assume will never happen again, either that or they accidentally printed two tickets for me. Oh well, I guess I’ll bring the extra ticket and see if anyone wants it.

Tomorrow I’ll be up at the butt crack of dawn (actually much before that) in order to attempt a sunrise photo shoot at Cochran Shoals. After seeing the glory that was this morning’s sunrise I can only hope for a repeat.

Tomorrow night I’ll be heading to a friend’s graduation party, which should be interesting because it is being held at a Korean BBQ restaurant that has karaoke rooms. Oh dear, what have I agreed to?

On Sunday I will be resting, cleaning, doing laundry, and preparing for the grand finale of The Amazing Race as well as getting my shit together for next week’s short, but oh-so-long, business trip to California.

We are hoping to go to Snowmass as well – back I’ll guess about 10 years ago they had it there – it was a great time. Lift tickets to downhill bike were only $8 for the whole day, I wonder what they are now. And – this time we WILL go over to Aspen, I’ve never been there.

I just hope we can take a week or more & drive, but we are also trying to plan a trip to Spain to go visit Allan’s brother & family in Girona, so depending on what dates we come up with for that…….

Cake for dinner – why not? I went to a candle party last night with a friend & just ate some appetizers – I don’t think it was much different really 😉

I’ll let you know if I’m going to make it over on Sunday for the Amazing Race finale, I don’t want to commit yet, I’m thinking there is something else I commited to doing, but can’t remember what that is.

  2. Consider it an open invitation, Barb. I’ll be making (or buying) some pizza dough and will have all the necessary “fixins” and alcohol available. The same goes for you Terri and Stacy.

would be fun to watch the finale with a group…..but we have the GUTS end of year party on Sunday, so I’ll be recording it……
    do not post any spoilers!!!!

  4. Stacy Fox says:

YAY! I like Sunday because it involves ME! 🙂

  5. Barb says:

I love making pizza – if I do make it, I’ll bring some ingredients (from my fridge) to add to the mix.

Hey Sal – how late does the party go? If it isn’t late, call me, if i don’t go to Paulie’s, you can come over & watch with me. I hate this nagging feeling that I’m forgetting something on Sunday. (I really should learn to write things down 😉

  6. Stacy Fox says:

“I guess I was planning on trying to get a date, which after last night I assume will never happen again”

What on earth happened last night? 😮

  7. Barb says:

yeah – what happened last night? (I’m being nosey again)

If I was single tonight, I’d go with you to the play – but Allan & I are actually going out to dinner tonight – just the 2 of us – like a date or something. (We have free dinner at the soon to be opening Marlow’s Tavern in East Cobb, it is a train the server type of night, so we eat free!)

  8. Same old story: Boy likes girl, girl doesn’t even notice boy. I’m returning to the point of not trying any more.

  9. Stacy Fox says:

If I had been asked, I’d have gone to the play with you tonight…sniff sniff… 🙁
But yay! I get to see you Sunday so life is good again.

Since I just realized today that I had two tickets I figured that it was too late to ask anyone to join me.
