Sleep Trumps All (Again)

I guess this is my perfect season for sleeping because I am doing a lot of it these days. I’m doing so much sleeping that I have little time for anything else, like blogging.

Ride Of Si
When I’ve previously ridden the Ride of Silence the ride went down Charles Allen, turned right on Ponce de Leon, right again on Peachtree, and wound its way back to Piedmont Park. When last night’s ride went over Ponce de Leon, through some of that sketchy area between Ponce and the capitol, continued heading south over Freedom Parkway, the hashers decided to break off and shortcut back to George’s (well, three of us went to George’s and the fourth went to the Highlander [want to venture a guess as to who this was?]).

I spent a couple of hours having a couple of beers and a burger with fries at George’s before heading home and nodding off.

Tonight? Farmers Market And Perhaps A Show
My initial plans for tonight are to hit the East Atlanta Farmers Market, and if I’m feeling sprite will be seeing my first show at “The Basement” at Graveyard Tavern in East Atlanta. The band Sleeper Agent is playing there tonight and I’m hoping to check out there show.

Okay, time for me to get things done…

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

And just to answer everyones’ question JA could not be silent during the “Ride of Silence”. Imagine.

I’ll be very curious to watch todays ToC to see if this sprinter has any time trialing ability. No lead out men on an 18 mile TT- gotta do it all on your own.

I did not want to wake up this morning at all, so I guess I slept good.

We went & got Steve’s springs, and some other things at Cycleworks before doing some mtn biking at Big Creek. Damn that place is hard (technically) compared to Tsali. It was a workout & we only rode about 6 miles before it turned to dusk in the woods & my getting old eyes decided I couldn’t see & we should quit.

Allan had spent the day extending the covered section of the deck, so we will be able to better sit outisde if it is raining, plus, get out of the sun on a hot day. He has decided roofing is not his thing, he has a whole new appreciation for those guys that do that. He was BEAT last night (but still kicked my ass biking, damn him)

  3. Yeah, it there is one person I never expect to see at an event called “Ride of Silence” it’s JA. 😀

Good to see a lot of friends last night at George’s, and thanks go out to Steve for convincing me to loop Piedmont Park about four times prior to going out for (our shortened) Ride of Silence.

Good to see you last night Steve and Paulie!
I wish the ride of silence was more organized, it is a great cause but to me looses something with all the disorganization.

  5. Yeah, the message is important but the organization has been incredibly lacking — even when Maigh, normally a master organizer, was involved.

  6. Steve says:

To say it’s disorganized impiles organization at some point, which I have never seen. It wouldn’t take much.
