Thanks For Joining Me At Breakfast

I didn’t realize that you liked pancakes too…

I’m on my way out of town again, and not a moment too soon. Last night was a busy one and caused me to sleep much later than I had desired.

Today’s blog will be a minimalist version of ITP because of all of the above.

Chuy’s
I skipped exercising last night in order to join a couple of coworkers at Chuy’s. While there I noshed on some nachos (skipping the beef) while consuming a few frozen margaritas (I can abandon beer on occasion). I left Chuy’s early enough to swing by REI and pick up a couple of last-minute needs for this weekend (I didn’t realize that I would be leaving late enough to go there this morning…)

Chow
While I probably consumed enough calories for one night at Chuy’s I had about an hour to kill on the westside and decided to find a place to eat.

I know very little about the “new” westside so I drove around a bit before settling on one of the many safe choices, 5 Seasons Brewing. At 5 Seasons I ate some spent-grain bread (delicious), a bowl of beer cheese soup (delicious), and a roasted beet salad (delicious). In fact, probably the worst part of the meal was the pale ale that I drank with dinner, which just didn’t thrill me.

Concert
I made it over to Terminal West at a great time. Upon my arrival a decent parking space had just opened up and I sauntered into the venue about mid-set for the second opener, La Sera.

The night’s headliner, Father John Misty, aka Josh Tillman, aka J. Tillman, and member of the former Fleet Foxes, put on a very entertaining show. The band was tight (as the old folks say) and Tillman put on a show. The crowd, typical for Atlanta these days, was filled with pretties, hipsters, and not exclusionary of those, talkers. I walked around the venue a lot in order to find peace — once I had to abandon a spot near a stunning woman because I couldn’t see the stage after people worked their way on front of me, once I left the scene of a budding fight between two guys (one guy stumbled over another and then stood directly in front of his girlfriend who then stormed off), but mostly I moved attempting to get away from people who love to hold high-volume conversations during the musical act for which I paid money to hear.

The show ended a little after midnight, so I was in bed around 12:40am.

Mission Accomplished
On Monday the Pancake Count for October will be four. I’ve just consumed far too much food but I expect it to hold me over until dinner, so at least I’ve got that going for me… I’m heading to QT to fill up the Jackmobile with gas and my wallet with a little spending cash. Thanks for joining me for breakfast, have a great weekend!

Cheers!
