Trainspotting

Dealing with Jackmobile issues today. Currently on the train heading to work.

Hoping the brake switch is the only problem and that I will be back in the Jackmobile today.

Hope everyone has electricity again and has a pleasurable weekend.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

  1. Barb says:

    so you dropped it off?
    Hope its an easy fix.

  2. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Drive it there and dropped it off. I walked to train, still riding in to work.

  3. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Just found out my comrade Miss K is leaving the company to move to Seattle next Friday. While I am certainly not surprised by this news I am surpringly bummed to hear this. This will mean a lot more work for me as well.

  4. Barb says:

So, she’s joining her husband? Well, good for her. Shall we go bowling to celebrate? Bummer it means more work for you.

This late report from JEFDSDR- still no power!! And on top of everything else, Debbie has a miserable cold. She is treating herself to Huddle House this morning and may check in here later.

I have to say the shower I took here at the bank felt pretty good- because we had the bed heaped up with blankets and dogs, I think I sweated out any evil cold bug Debbie may have transfered to me. Now working to spread the 800 telephones around the building in preparation for working all weekend.

No suprise about Ms. K. I’m not sure how she stayed seperated for as long as she did. Please wish her a bon voyage from the ITP bowling team. (oh damn, maybe we need shirts made!!)

No real problems on the drive in this morning except one patch of ice of naturally occuring groundwater- at 80 mph and cruise control, that was a little fun!!

I hope the jackmobile is an easy fix.

  6. Finally made it into the office. Oh look, it’s nearly lunch time!

She is going to join her hubby and for that I am happy for her. I’ve grown fond of having her as a friend and as a trusted coworker.

Jesus Christ, people had two days out of the office and are here clipping their nails today? WTF.

  7. Jenka says:

What a great week I’ve had! I “worked” from home on Monday, and then Emory was closed for three days. So here I am at the office for my grueling one-day work week! Never lost power, had plenty of food and booze. Watched A LOT of krap on TV.

Paulie, I feel your pain on the brake light thing. A friend told me a couple of weeks ago that I had a rear light out, but I haven’t been able to figure out which light it is, so I’m driving around hoping I don’t get pulled over.

Steve, hope you guys get power back soon! I would’ve gone to a hotel by now.

  8. Steve says:

We have power!! At least the answering machine picked up when I called. Debbie was out getting her Huddle House fix, and warming up I’m sure.

I would have loved to have been able to work from home yesterday, but since I couldn’t, I’m in the office on my normal Friday off. And get to work all weekend as well. Oh. Joy.

Paulie, any news on the Jackmobile?

  9. No news yet.

Looks like I’ll be in the office Saturday and Sunday, not because of the storm, but because of Miss K’s departure next Friday. She wants to finish up what she’s been working on and I’ll need to learn all that she’s done to support it in her absence.

  10. martha says:

I’m happy to be back at the office believe it or not. I’m not going to work the whole day, I need to meet the contractor to pick out cabinets and I’ll need to leave early to collect Jerry, either from the airport or Marta (depending on traffic)…

Not much to report, I took an extra hard nap yesterday, walked the dogs and dropped stuff off at the dry cleaners for Jerry.

We found out yesterday that Jerry has to go back to Miami on Monday (and at least one more trip next month). I guess there are worse places to have to go.

  11. Just heard from Peach Auto, Jackmobile work is done. *whew*

  12. Barb says:

BTW Paulie – any chance you are joining us for dinner?
Just trying to plan it all time wise……

  13. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Whoops, sorry about that. Because of the Jackmobile’s issues I won’t be able to make it up there. Thanks for the offer.

  14. Barb says:

and, what was actually wrong with the car?
Allan said you should come over anyway.

  15. I’ll find out when I get down there. I trust them, so I didn’t bother to ask.

I have two huge bags of laundry that I am going to take care of tonight. Since I’ll be working both Saturday and Sunday now I really need to knock this out.

  16. Barb says:

Laundry over dinner….. priorities! But – I understand.
And- its a first time recipe, I don’t even know how good it will be.
Hash happy hour is at Johnny’s Hideaway tonight, I’m almost bummed we can’t go (but the massage is very needed).

  17. bob says:

Paulie why don’t you just take your laundry to Barb’s house? That way you get dinner and can do your laundry while socializing 🙂

  18. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

I have so much laundry that they’d never get rid of me

  19. Barb says:

you could do the most important stuff…… I wouldn’t care.
Our washer does have a way too long wash cycle though, damn way too expensive appliance.

  20. Martha says:

I was thinking the same thing Bob.
