Turns Out I Was (Am) Sick

I recognized the fact that I was shivering inside an office building yesterday as a bad sign. I managed to make it until 4pm, drive home, and get into bed a little before 5:30pm. I have remained here since, with the exception of nature breaks, sleeping on and off the entire night.

Needless to say I will be skipping this morning’s training ride, my shin is still not 100% anyway. It’s turning out to be a bad week for my cycling. Stupid body.

A-B-C, Always-Be-Closing
Last night I watched my favorite movie, Glengarry Glen Ross, on my iPad while spending the night in bed. Turns out I picked a good night to stream this movie from Netflix because yesterday was the last day that it was available for streaming.

Home Again
I don’t feel well enough to go into the office today, I won’t go into details. Instead I will be working from home (this may be the best thing to happen to me in a while if I can concentrate on some of my algorithms). Wheee! I have to call into a meeting today at 11am but the rest of the day I can write code, at least when I am awake.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

  1. Follow up on my neighbors: It is July 1st and appears that they are gone. The house looks empty, there are no cars in the driveway, and the basketball goal that I thought belonged to the house next to them has also been removed.

Sorry you are feeling puny. My vertigo is still there, but getting better. I just had to pack some equipment to ship out and had to hold on to something to keep from falling over. This is really unpleasant.

The Brown man is back to his artistic ways. He had Debbie’s paddock boots artfully stacked on one of his beds. That boy never ceases to amaze.

I was feeling good enough to ride the trainer last night and was fine as long as I didn’t look down- something about pedalling action rocking from side to side and my vertigo did not go together well.

We showed a very nice steak the fire of the grill last night and it got scared just enough to cook perfectly. That and a baked potato were a very nice meal while I watched the US Women kick Deutschland to the curb! I thought we were going to go down 1 nil early in the second half when Germany had a goal kick, but she missed the goal all together. Oops.

    Any rumors about trivia tomorrow?

Hope you feel better and get some coding donw.

  3. Still not out of the woods, but I think I can see the corner I need to turn in the distance.

If she doesn’t comment today I’ll ping ITP-Reader Stacy to see if there is a plan to meet for trivia tomorrow night.

  4. In my fugue state I completely forgot that today is Canada Day. I miss my Canadian friend Tamara and hope to get the opportunity to visit her up there next year.

ita a baby shower morning here at my office – so we got a tray of mini Chick-fila-biscuits & other food stuffs. YUM. I forget how much I like the chicken nuggets. I rarely go to CFA because I find it terribly over priced for fast food.

Last night I went to Magic Mike with a bunch of girlfriends- it was entertaining with all the lovely men, but what a dumb movie. I never saw the first one, I don’t think I missed much, except of course the 6 pack/8 pack abs. We looked around & saw 1gay couple & 2 other guys in the packed theatre. I was curious…….

tongith we need to ride, but the weather forcast looks iffy.
I wonder where the Canada Day hash is. I may have to look it up.
Paulie – I hope you feel better.
