The Rumor Of The Wednesday Night Ride Cancellation Never Happened

I rode over to Free Flite Bikes in Sandy Springs last night only to find that I was the only one there. Solidarity lasted but few minutes when another “regular” arrived. And then the shop owner came out to ask us if we knew that the Wednesday night rides have been cancelled due to a shift in the leader’s schedule.

Obviously we didn’t know this.

At that point I had two viable options:

  1. Scurry over to Peachtree Bikes and join their ride for the first time.
  2. Ride alone.

You probably guessed that I chose the latter. Because I know the Chastain route, and because I know that the Peachtree Bikes ride is almost 30 miles long, and because I know that it is starting to get dark earlier, I made the decision to ride along.

I suppose there was a third option, ride with the other guy that showed up, but I know that we don’t ride the same speed so I didn’t even really consider this option.

I managed to get in a twenty-five mile ride, at a pace slower than Saturday’s. It felt good to get some exercise for the first time this week.

After driving home and unloading the car I pretty much passed out on my bed.

Double-Booked, But Will Make Both
This afternoon I will be stopping in at Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall to attend Trees Atlanta‘s “Tailgate for Trees” party. The event is a fundraiser as they kickoff (get it?) another season of tree planting. Having never been to Ladybird before I am interested to see what the space is all about.

From Ladybird I will drive to Camelli’s to join ITP-Reader Stacy and Aron for Team Trivia.

Big night!

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Look at you, oh so popular, double-booked and all! 🙂 I was going to suggest we go with one big pie with our winnings, but I’m assuming you’re eating at the earlier event? We’ll save ya beer money instead. *grin*

  2. I’m sure there will be some sort of food at the event, but I can always eat. 🙂 Of course don’t wait for me if you feel peckish.

I told my boss this morning he had no worries of me quitting my job and becoming a carpenter, as I managed to F up 2 different 16′ rafters last night. In order to be ready for the voluntold labor Saturday, I’m taking the afternoon off to complete what I need before a couple of my Games buddies show up to put on the roof.

The new pony is here. Skinny, but fairly sweet and very chilled out. Maybe he’ll show us something, but he seems very relaxed, and he need a good meal or 3.

We didn’t do anything last night, sat out on the deck for dinner, got a little chilly (I love that) so went inside & watched some of The Newsroom – season 3. Only 3 episodes left until its totally over. I wonder what Aaron Sorkin’s next project will be?

And – new TV season starts next week – anyone hear of any new shows we need to watch?

  5. I’m so out of touch when it comes to television shows.

  6. Stacy says:

Bill’s going to try to join us too! He’s up in the mountains but if he gets back in time, he will. Will be interested to hear a review of Ladybird. I heard it was a hipster haven, but pretty much everything in that area is these days.

  7. Steve says:

Paulie, if it’s all hipster, then ride your fixie and leave your hat on.

  8. Stacy says:

Barb, in regards to TV shows? Totally looking forward to Scream Queens and The Bastard Executioner and American Horror Story stars Lady GaGa this year, I think. So I’ll totally tune into that. Not sure about any comedies though (that new one CBS is highly promoting – Life in Pieces – looks so stupid in my book). OH! And there’s also that lawyer one with Rob Lowe and Fred Savage. I totally hope that one will be good because I love them both.

  9. Barb says:

I’m perusing the internets to see what all the new shows are.

Rob Lowe & Fred Savage? might have to check that out for sure.
Is the Full House remake starting this fall? I LOVE John Stamos. I’m sure the show will be stupid, but….. its John Stamos!

  10. Steve says:

I wish they would bring back Newsroom. Nothing so intelligent on TV since West Wing. The dialogue was so fast, we watched it with closed captioning.
