I can’t find a doctor with nearly availability. Ham, the earliest “new patient” appointment for your place is five weeks out, and a physical can’t be scheduled in 2017.

Our healthcare system is broken.

  1. So I, or more accurately in my case my employer, can pay for health insurance, but good luck trying to use it…

  2. Stacy says:

Schedule the appointment anyway and ask them to notify you if there are any cancellations before then. Then you can keep looking but if you don’t find anything, at least you have this one.

This time of year is rough, people trying to use up their Flex Spending and getting in visits before the deductible resets again Jan. 1. I’m guessing that’s part of your problem.

  3. Steve says:

I guess I’m missing something- why don’t you have a “regular” doctor? Who has been doing your annual physical?

Room 1 of 2 has a freshly painted ceiling. The other room (kitchen) baffles me, as the ceiling is shiny. Maybe a semi-gloss paint? I realized I might have to clean it before painting it. The beds are ready for cloth and pine bark. Getting closer.

Wrap up Games meeting tonight. This is the “bitch and moan” session, or as my boss says “after action report”. I’m sure it will be a fun one.

    • I have never been impressed by the physicals done by my (former) PCP, so I stopped scheduling them; I haven’t had a physical in about four years.

My (former) PCP didn’t take Kaiser, who I stupidly switched to when I started at “XYZ Corp”. I have now switched to United HealthCare and am seeking a new PCP.

I may go to my (former) PCP, who does take UHC, just to get what’s been ailing me looked at because I don’t need an appointment to see her.

Getting the house ready to sell – no fun at all.
Clean or just rough up the ceiling in the kitchen with a sanding block – I hope that’s all you will need.

  4. Oh yeah.

M6 is back in my possession. I am $1000 poorer due to maintenance and tires.

Tried new McCray’s on West Peachtree last night – expensive, mediocre.

  5. Steve says:

You bought tires at the dealer?

    • I had an appointment for service already scheduled when I found out that I needed new tires. The tire that took the brunt of the pothole had a crack in the sidewall. My time is worth more than the amount I would have saved by taking the car somewhere else.

      • Barb says:

Subaru actually offered me a decent price on tires when I needed mine, but I decided to go to Discount Tire as there are more locations, and I have a lifetime warranty. (and don’t have to deal with the dealership – they annoyed me last oil change)

  6. Barb says:

Went home at lunch & made Shepherd’s Pie for dinner tonight – since I’ve been working so late, I feel guilty – Allan has to keep making us dinner.
all he has to do is stick it in the oven.
TJ & Mary are finally back form Colorado, so they may join us.
