I had the opportunity to eat meat last night, but I chose only vegetables. I don’t know who I am any more!

We had the elusive Heirloom Market Korean Fried Chicken! They only have it on Wednesday’s, it sells out quick. I remembered at lunch time & called to asked if I could pick it up at 5:30. They said yes! It was good, but was it that much better then other fried chicken? Not really for the difference in price. But, their Mac n cheese never disappoints!

    I’m not at work today!
But, heading to the doctor, my health insurance is done at the end of the month. I need to figure out Cobra, or getting on the City of Atl ins, new job ins isn’t available for 90 days.

I saw your food picture, Barb – it looked great! I’ve never been there before, but I know where it is (went walking along the river not too far from there last fall). Been wanting to try!

Cobra is SUCH a joke. Like, hey. You’re losing your job, but go ahead and pay us $600 bucks/mo. for crap insurance coverage anyway ’til you find a new one. Well, luckily in your case it’s not like you’re *losing* a job [congrats on your last day yesterday!]…but you know what I mean.

I really like the Koran bbq sauce at Heirloom, which they threw some in the bag, so I was happy. (I’d hate to have to go buy it! Ha!) We are debating having a party, we “need” to cook a pork butt on the Egg.

    • I didn’t find Cobra hard to manage. Yes, it was expensive but it was for the exact coverage that my former employer provided. Good luck!

  2. As part of last night’s “Mystery Dinner” we ate at Southbound in Chamblee. Everything on the menu looked great, but I chose the vegetable plate and shared starters with others.

We started with a beverage at Vintage Pizza. Much of the group ended somewhere for dessert, but I was sated and tired and headed home instead.

    • Dinner At Southbound
Shared starter of mac and cheese.

We also shared fried Brussels sprouts, and fried green tomatoes. I didn’t get a photo of either.

      Dinner At Southbound
My vegetable plate, clockwise from the top – turnips with their greens, beets, grilled zucchini, Brussels sprout leaves, and cornbread in the center. My Brussels sprout leaves were bland, but everything else was delicious.

Yeah Barb!!! On to better pastures, even though they may be a little less green! I’m not a big fan of fried chicken, but that Korean variety did look pretty tasty.

We had a one pot orzo with Italian sausage from HF. Pretty tasty, but I thought the pasta to sausage ratio wasn’t quite right. Plenty of sausage.. not enough pasta. Odd.

Ready for a weekend with few responsibilities… the last 3 seemed to have been very, very short.

WELL crap, I totally forgot we were supposed to plan a lunch outing today.
I’m getting my Drivers License renewed right now, I have a 10 year one, that doesn’t have any of the be chip stuff. Figured I’d do it now while I have time, there’s so few places l fto to go do this!

  5. Barbara says:

We both are able to do something maybe tomorrow, but I think Steve isn’t at the office?

    ….sitting, waiting at OK Cafe.
(I’m actually trying to finish up taxes and warming some left-over Mellow Mushroom pizza.)
