I convinced Betsy to substitute chipotle peppers for the green chili peppers she apparently didn’t buy for her enchilada dish last night; great substitution. With chicken and an amazing amount of cheese this dish was about as far from vegan/vegetarian as I could get, which is why I still allow myself up to two meat days a week. 😀

After sixteen/seventeen years of boycotting the SLUT hash (really long story), I will be attending my first tonight — in Hapeville!

I am trying to convince myself I can make an Edmonton trip as well as a Germany for German Nash Hash this summer; time and money are the limiting factors.

    I hate time. What’s the story? 🙂

Finally went back to the Y last night for the strength & tone class, I need to do that more often, I realize how I don’t have any where enough upper body strength.
It really is right on my way home, I don’t have any good excuses besides I’m lazy.

and – not sure who was there for Allan’s comments about Ric Ocasek & Paulina Porizova recently (how ugly guys can score hot chicks if they are rich & famous), and how its amazing they are one of the couples that stayed married – I see today they are getting divorced after 29 years.

    • Whoa! BETSY and I were discussing them last night. She used them as an example of two people who are unlikely to be together but are, when I posed confusion aloud about how Patton Oswald was able to find two women to marry him while I haven’t found one.

      • ITP Lurker says:

Let’s do this again, from the top:

Call: “I posed confusion aloud about how Patton Oswald was able to find two women to marry him while I haven’t found one.”

Response: “Patton Oswald figured out how to get out of his own damn way.”

Last morning in the big Easy. Went with the local to inspect a site for a small sailing craft “regatta” he’s trying to organize in Bay St. Louis, MS. Found a nice restaurant on the water with a good server and enjoyed mahi tacos and a few libations.

Should have worked out last night, but gravity got a hold of me and that was that.

A weddin’ tomorrow evening of some horsey friends- BLACK TIE!! (y’all do know Debbie married a gay man, right? Except for that sex thing…). I don’t recall the church, but the reception is at the Wimbush House (between my office and XYZ Corp). Should be a good time.

    • Wimbish House is nice, should be a fun reception.

    • Barb says:

Black tie wedding are fun – Allan actually bought a white dinner jacket because of a black tie wedding we attended. Its been a while since we have gotten all dressed up, and we are missing the Seersucker suit & big hat party next weekend – so he’s not getting to wear that suit any time soon either.

      • I’d suggest wearing it to Prom from Hell on 5/19, but I am sure that it would get ruined by hashers.

        • Barb says:

BUT – Allan also has his 70s baby poo colored brown tux. He has quite a full closet I realize at times. I am in search of a good prom from hell dress – so far my thrift store search hasn’t been successful. (most of the good dresses are a size 4 or 6 – not my size at all)

and – I almost forgot – we finally booked the food tour at Ponce City Market for this Saturday 5/5. It was Allan’s parents Christmas gift over a year ago.
Anyone bored & want to join us? It starts at 11am, should be done by about 2pm or so is my guess. Its $65, but I’m pretty sure you can find 10-20% off discount codes out there if you look around.

    • Stacy says:

I totally would, but I’m volunteering at a beer festival from 12-4. Yep, some people do good out in the world with REAL volunteering. I volunteer by pouring beers. 😉

      • “Filling the mugs of thirsty patrons” it’s difficult work but somebody has to do it. 😉

      • Barb says:

Once I see that I like the tour guide(s) – we need to book the Inman Park tour. That looks pretty cool too.
I was reading about some other ones too – 1 downtown would be fun.
Since I have no idea what hidden gems are around.
We did a Marietta Square food tour a few years ago, it was fun learning about the history, and the food was excellent too.

        • Stacy says:

I looked at the downtown one and most of the places I’ve already been to – go figure though. Inman Park, not so though. Let me know if you end up deciding to do that. Marietta Square would be really ideal for me since I never get out there. It’d be a nice reason to go OTP. I wonder if Roswell has one? Going to the Googles….

      • Steve says:

Those of us who throw the party make the world a better place! At least that’s how I justify it…

    • Way too many things going on this weekend, so I can’t.

  6. Barb says:

HoPo’s birthday is Saturday night as well – Hawaiian luau theme when its Cinco de Mayo & Kentucky Derby day. Gotta love that! I found a real shirt – made in Hawaii & everything.

    • Stacy says:

I have a real Hawaiian shirt too! Got it at a thrift store ages ago. It’s actually nice. Like, I might need to find something more tacky. I’m not sure if I’ll make the party yet. With my beer festival, and then Amy’s (69rpm) birthday party, I’ll have to see. But I’m going to try.

    • I used to have real Hawaiian shirts, but gave them away years ago…

  7. Crap, my body is a sweat-making machine. I walked to and from the Amazon store on 5th, using as many shady sidewalks as possible, and am still sweating to death.
