I need to start getting more exercise again because I need to keep expending calories in my pursuit of weight loss.

Don’t we all? I think a road ride is in my future tonight…

Last night I fired up the electric fence. There were a couple of spots where the old fence I connected to passed some big trees and the line was either touching or too close, as there was arcing (probably because it was still damp). After some adjustments/additions of insulators, I lit it back up. I went along with the meter to check that it had good power through its length. Note to self- just because the meter reads 1.0 instead of 11 or 12, do not check it with your hand! The meter wasn’t grounded well, but I was!! YEEEOOOWWW! (it wasn’t all that, but it still stung).

I think todays rain will just be normal and not tropical storm induced. But still annoying!

I can’t complain about the rain…….. the sod is looking good so far.

      • Stacy says:

I’m complaining about the rain: I’m missing it! I swear every time I head outside it’s during a pause. I have this cute new umbrella to use and I still haven’t been able to use it. 🙂

      • My grass is growing well — too well. I need to find a morning very soon during which I can cut it. 🤬

  2. Barb says:

Nothing exciting going on out here OTP, Allan is working at the Hamilton show tonight (& tomorrow night), so I’ve got free time.
Not sure what I will do.

    • Stacy says:

Inspired by you the other week, I’ve set up a massage appointment tonight, Barb. I can’t wait until the workday is over now.

Speaking of workday…any more news about what you’re going to do, Barb? Are you for sure going back to the old place?

      • Barb says:

I need to talk to the big boss again, possibly this evening.
They did confirm that I go back to my original hire date (like I have never been gone) for vacation accrual days, etc.
I think I will text him later today to set up a time to talk again, if he doesn’t text me first.
I think I will go back, now that a girl I like (and think is smart) is doing a lot of my old job now, so as long as they agree to leave her in place, I think the 2 of us can make a decent team. And, be able to work with a lot less stress.

      • Barb says:

and MASSAGE, enjoy!!!! Sue has started using that cupping technique, I’m not sure about it – but I did get some lovely circular bruises from it on my back, I felt like celebrity or sports athlete.

        • Stacy says:

Hahaha! I’ve never done the cupping but it looks interesting. Carey Lynn (my friend) uses bamboo, essential oils, reflexology and moist heat….I’m intrigued. She wasn’t using bamboo the last time I went so who knows what’s gonna happen to me? 😉

          • Barb says:

The bamboo rods help the therapist to not have to use as much of their own muscles. I like the bamboo. let me know tomorrow how wonderful it is.
Be careful, the essential oils cult will get you, I’m not sold on their all healing powers, but I do have a diffuser & use them here & there. (they aren’t cheap for the real oils, and I’m told, the fake oils just aren’t the same)

  3. Lol. A guy here at work has started calling me “Jeff”. I realized it too late to correct him, so now I think I will let it play out.

    — Jeff

    • Debbie Brady says:

Jeff can be your alter ego. He’s smooth with the ladies, used to play lacrosse and vacations in the Mediterranean. Kind of a playa but not a dick about it.

Who else wants to run with this?

      • I’m okay with all but the Mediterranean part. I can’t even pretend to like the heat and beaches…

      • Barb says:

The Mediterranean isn’t always warm……. trust me on that.

      • Stacy says:

He’s the kind of Jeff who would never wear loafers without socks, always carries a handkerchief should a woman unexpectedly need one, and has been known to buy a round of drinks for a room and then leave before anyone could discover who to thank.

  4. bob says:

I suppose I should start packing, bike is prepped though and logistics figured out so it’s all coming together nicely. Can’t wait for a week of riding bikes and drinking beer.

Alter egos can be fun, I had a friend who when he drank enough an alter ego would come out. That was some funny shit.

    • Barb says:

Kerry’s comment on FB yesterday about a ride to the start made me laugh – how many people on the Chattahooligan page are going to BRAG? I think it would have almost annoyed me enough to say, sorry, trucks are full.

      • bob says:

I did get a laugh out of it, there really only 2 going and Mike never responds to anything. Not sure who she thought would respond to that.

  5. Oh yeah, on trail Saturday Glory Mole and I discussed the desire to do a bowling night some time. Stay tuned…
