I’d enjoy the 4th a lot more if I didn’t have to worry about idiots shooting off guns and fireworks. At least the rain literally dampened everything making it less likely that they could burn down the neighborhood.

So looking forward to not living by the “This must be eaten so that I don’t have to throw it away” rule again. Perhaps I will start to lose, instead of gain, weight.

It rained ITP? I’m not sure if it rained at all in Marietta.
Fireworks don’t bother me, I think most were done by 11pm, or I just fell asleep so I have no idea.
Hash Tuesday night was fun, but not doing down downs until 10pm was a little ridiculous. So, since we left, did we miss anything good?
Yesterday was busy, got a good mtn bike ride in, went to meet a bunch of hashers at Tucker Brewing (guess what town they are located in?) They have 3 beers – a pilsner, a hefeweisen & a brown hoppier one. They have a nice facility in a business park off Mountain Industrial. then to a BBQ for dinner.
    Have a good flight!

Yeah, it was a bit late to start circle, but by that point I decided to stay. They called out virgins, PM virgins, too longs (that would be me), PRR racists, rule 6’s (Doggy Style for riding a bike on a running hash), then a moment to remember Marquis de Shiggy.

All in all, a nice evening.

You should now be airborne, so I hope that has gone well.

The radar showed plenty of rain for the city, but we were untouched, so the neighbors had their celebration of Armageddon as scheduled. We thought they were done and let the horses out for the night, when the second wave started. I didn’t hear the thundering of hooves, so I hope all is well.

We got one of those late night calls you don’t want to get. Debbie’s mom fell yesterday and apparently laid with a broken hip until Andy got home late. She’s at Atlanta Medical Center, waiting on the ortho to look at her.

    More news later..

well, bummer about Debbie’s mom, how long was she laying there? How awful. They took her all the way into town to AMC?

      • Steve says:

Unknown. Andy called after 1. I don’t know what time she fell. And I’m not sure why they took her all the way to AMC, unless the hospital in Griffin wasn’t taking patients.

Regarding forcing yourself to eat food just because you spent money on it, see #1: https://www.alternet.org/personal-health/14-habits-highly-miserable-people

I get it, it was beat into my head to clean my plate, and I still default into that mode sometimes. But when I’m able to be mindful, in my view it’s just as much a waste if I eat food I don’t want/need as it is to throw it in the trash. Much less emotional load (and body weight) for just tossing shit out.

    • Steve says:

Me as well. I have to fight the clean plate club and I’m frequently a loser in the battle. Smaller portions help, but that doesn’t always happen either.

    • While I routinely clean my plate, I have managed to not do so occasionally. This was worse (for me) because it would have involved throwing out entirely-unused things like a package of tofu, an entire head of cauliflower, etc. Being raised by depression-era parents made this a mortal sin that I couldn’t perform.

      • ITP Lurker says:

If you want to be free, you have to make your own rules, which can and should be different than your parents rules. It may be sounds harsh, but previous generations were human too, and who died and made them know it all? They were making shit up as they went the same as we are. You could always drop the food off with a neighbor if you just can’t bear to throw it away personally. And perhaps they’d use it.

        Happy travels.

  4. In arrival plane at LAX. Hungry, wonder if I can find vegetarian food here… 😂

  5. Sitting outside a terminal at LAX that is headed to Raleigh-Durham. This seems bizarre to me from here.

  6. Why are all of these people flying to Edmonton?
