This was supposed to be the post where I happily declare that I made the final payment on the M6! And then…

Yesterday wasn’t frustrating enough that on my drive home I had to take a right turn too sharply (again) and clip another curb? So goddamn annoying! Sometimes I think I’d be better off not owning a car…

Obviously I was angry with myself. But in hindsight I remind myself that the M6 is just a possession and that no one, nor no one else’s property was damaged by my misjudgment so I have struck out that text. Moving on…

  1. But hey, the good news hidden by the strikeout is that yesterday I made my final payment for the M6. Now I need to learn to drive it like I own it, well, once i get title in hand.

🤜🏻🤛🏻 on the positive. I remember paying mine off in 2005 😂. Did you do any damage to your car?

Spontaneous road trip to Athens today. If anyone has any must-dos / must-sees, let me know. Probably going to go see the campus, walk around the downtown, eat a couple meals, go to Creature Comforts, hit the botanic garden, stalk the “Automatic For The People” restaurant.

    • Weaver D’s, but you knew that. 😉

Take a photo outside the 40 Watt Club
      Beer at Trappeze Pub
Visit Schoolkids Records (if they still exist)
Visit cool cemetery east of football stadium (Oconee Hill)
Eat a meal at Clocked (since you like diners)
Give the middle finger to UGA (okay, that’s just a “me” thing)

no suggestions from me on Athens, I’ve barely been there – and never as a tourist. I would like to go to Creature Comforts some day.
      Isn’t Terrapin there too?

Sounds like The Grit is already on your agenda. Jittery Joe’s is my favorite coffee shop. I never had the nerve (or need) to order a Crackachino (4 shots of espresso in a cup of coffee). Big City Bread is fabulous too. If time allows, Athens has a great greenway.

I’ve been missing Athens but get to spend Saturday night there so I’ll get my fix.

I try to avoid Athens if at all possible. A few bike races there have left me with a bad taste. And there’s that university.. (sorry honey!).

Ollie decided to go walkabout last night. I wasn’t worried as I kinda jnew where he was, but when the sun was finally setting, I thought we better find him. He was sitting in front of a 48″ box fan in the business behind us, just as happy as could be.

Grass is cut and garbage is out. Life is good.

Congrats on paying off the jackmobile, oops, M6. I think I have an M6 on my short list when I replace the M3. The couple times I rode in it, I thought it was quite nice. Of course, my plan is to drive my M3 until the wheels fall off, much to Debbie’s chagrin.

  5. On the brink of selling all of my stocks (that have profit, thanks for nothing ATT), throwing my hands in the air, and walking away from everything… 🤬

buy Nike now while its low – all those people outraged caused it to dip, but we all know it will come back up.

Was ready to sell the minivan to a salvage guy, but a friend this weekend might know someone that could use it (or sell it for parts) so I’m waiting for him to get back to me.

Speaking of titles – I was trying to find the title, since you need that, even if you scrap it. Couldn’t find it anywhere (got really, really annoyed at that) -but finally did – in the Subaru file. Someone put it in the wrong file.
Since with all the new tax laws, there will probably be not enough deductions to lower our taxable amount, I figured maybe I’d get a little cash for the van instead of donating it.

    Athens:
    – Canes (no, really.) On Baxter.
    – Taqueria del Sol (there’s one in Athens too!)
    – GA Botanical Garden (go early, it will be hot/humid)
    – Georgia Museum of Art is kind of cool
    – Oconee Hill Cemetery (just east of Sanford Stadium) is intersting, if you’re into that sort of thing). Many Georgia place names folks are buried there.
    – The Russell Special Collections Building (off Baxter) has lots of neat stuff, Doesn’t take long to see.
