Fucking NY Jets… I’m glad I didn’t waste my time and money watching the Jets blow a 14-3 lead at halftime to lose 21-17 to the Cleveland Browns; the same Browns who hadn’t won a game since 2016.

In happier news, I’m up at 5:30am to watch a sport for which I have no rooting interest (Australian Rugby) and it’s EAV Strut weekend so that’s where you’ll find me tomorrow.

If I’m feeling better by tomorrow I’m considering Strut too. The hash is actually starting early and in your ‘hood so that it can end at the Strut. That sounds kinda fun! 🙂

  2. Steve says:

Racing tonight at the velodrome, tomorrow in Hapeville and Sunday in College Park. I’m working tonight and Sunday, so stop in. Should be fun racing- they have been promoting heavily.

Ran last night for the first time in weeks. Certainly feel it today.

    More later.

not camping yet……… Allan & a lot of the crew are all having fun – I’m not.
I hope to leave here at 3:30-4pm – this day already has been screwed up -s o who knows.
Best story from yesterday was Allan set up the camper on the wrong site – so he had to do it twice. I told him – he totally needs me!!! I would have never let that happen.

  4. BARB says:

and – what the hell- BROWNS WIN!!!
Sorry Paulie – but is just funny.
I was watching a morning show & they said the celebrations were just they had won the Superbowl.

    • Stacy Fox says:

Someone showed me an actual headline that read: “Browns…Win?” and I just snorted out loud.

    • I’ll drown my sorrows by eating a (potentially free) lunch a Mamak on Buford Highway today. Meeting a former coworker who wants to ask me about iOS development, so she may pay. 😉

I’ll be at the Strut tomorrow too, and there’s a Urban Explorers bike ride Sunday that I’ll need to try and not be hung over for :). I begrudgingly have to interrupt my Strutting for a couple hours to attend a neighborhood block party / potluck, since I’ve lived here over a year and haven’t met many neighbors except the ones on either side of me. Which also means today I need to find a recipe, buy the ingredients, and cook it… Ugh, why is it on the same day as the Strut?

I gave my neighborhood message board a heads up about the hash, in hopes that no will call 911 this time about the flour. I guess I’ve outed myself as a hasher, even though I didn’t directly specify. Based on the comments about hashing from the last incident, they probably won’t be impressed that “one of them” lives in the ‘hood. 😂

    • Oh yeah, I guess I am signed up for Urban Explorers bike ride too. 🙄 Looks as if I will be sweating out the beer on Sunday morning. 😂

    • ITP Lurker says:

Conversely, they’ve outed themselves as people with too much time on their hands, so it all evens out. 😉

    • Stacy Fox says:

There’s also the Beltline Lantern Parade tomorrow night! That’s an absolute treat to witness if you’ve never seen it before.

      • Bonnie says:

There are SO MANY events happening tomorrow! Won’t be able to swing the lantern parade, but I went to the Grant Park version last year and it was really cool. That’s the drawback of living in a big city, you have to choose between several great events! We didn’t usually have this problem in Memphis…

Good/great report from Dr. Royster — hip pain is definitely “musculoskeletal”.
(Man, there’s a lot more hardware in there than I remembered.)

And dude still knows how to hurt people. “Does that hurt?” (Yeow…)

Me: “So, Doctor (many Peachtrees, 8 marathons, 2 Bostons), if I work hard at it, can I run the Peachtree Road Race for the 28th time in July?”
    Dr. Royster: “Absolutely…if you stretch.”

Six weeks of PT, 2 x week should be a good start.

BTW: Along with more Braves/Hawks than I could count, they have a signed photo from…Nancy Grace. Take that John Smoltz.

Pro tip: “Stop doing leg lifts on the weight machines, that will tear your knees up…”

I don’t know if I’ll get back to running seriously, but it’s certainly is a more compact workout. It just has to get cooler. When the hell is Fall starting?
