Looks like I’ll be joining the Root Canal Club on February 7th. And, it looks like the journey which started last June regarding this tooth will wind up costing me over $3000; I might have been able to renovate my tiny bathroom with that amount of money. Poop.

I decided to lick my proverbial wounds by skipping German class, going to a Goodwill in Marietta (buying two shirts in which I can warm-weather hash for $5), buying some beer at the package store next to the Goodwill, and then (after passing Tasty China Smyrna) eating meat at a Chinese buffet, all before fighting traffic home and being a lump on the couch for the rest of the night.

I would have yanked that tooth out for ya for $30.

Ugh, sorry Paulie. Teeth are indeed expensive… I will NEVER add up what my teeth have cost me, but if I did it would probably be a whole house renovation, and a damn nice one too.

Tasty China was delicious! Looking forward to joining in y’all’s TC outings sometime. I had the fried eggplant, and my other dining companions had chicken fried rice and a green bean and some kind of meat dish. Hot and sour soup was also consumed at our table but not by me as I couldn’t verify it was vegetarian :(.

I was supposed to be on jury duty today but I was excused last night. Same thing happened last year.

    • Oh I’m pretty sure their soup has pork in it. 😋

Now that you aren’t headed downtown I hope you can enjoy this cold sunny day. 🙂

I never added up how much money I spent at the periodontist.
It was WAY TOO MUCH money. I seriously will consider a Mexican dental vacation if I ever need to do something like that again.

Hey Paulie, I thought you might grace us with a link to that Fellini’s picture that someone tracked you down to purchase yesterday? Nice sleuthing on their part.

which Goodwill is next to a Package store?
    Inquiring Minds………..
you should have made me join you – I was a total slug last night.
I got home & barely left the couch.

    • On Whitlock (?). I used Maps to get me there. I was going to go to the one near you afterwards but got distracted by the thought of dinner. Ironically the buffet at which I ate is across Cobb Pkwy from another Goodwill that I also did not visit because I wanted to head back ITP.

It was adventures in MARTA’ing this morning. As I arrived in the oarking lot, my NPR station reported problems between CPK and the Airport and busses were picking up the slack. Got to the platform, see a northbound train and sit down. Operator comes on and says, “Wawawaswwawa wawawawaa.” (I had my headphones on). Doors close and we go SOUTH! WTF, O? When we get to the airport, I ask the operator if we will now go North and he said just to CPK. Oh well- better listen next time. They were rolling north and single tracking past the derailment! Pics on WSB look pretty ugly, but Marta isn’t currently showing an alert.

      you got screwed!
In-laws got back from Colorado ABOUT 2AM (from text message from Mary – glad I had my ringer turned off). I think they had a good time, though TJ went to Tucson for some SRAM thing for part of the trip.

  6. Considering canceling Netflix when I get a notification of the announced price increase. Also considering canceling my Audible account because I have too many unlistened books.

    • barb says:

      OMG – its a whole $1 more – right?
but – if you don’t use it -sure – cancel away -but I can’t imagine $1 a month breaking you.

      • I believe it’s going up $2/month to $13/month, so that’s $156/year. Audible is already $15/month, or $180/year. The only thing on Netflix I watch is “The Great British Bake Off”, and I rarely listen to audiobooks, so I am considering saving $336/year or about 1/3 of my root canal.

        • barb says:

I bet someone you know would let you use their Netflix login (especially if you don’t really watch much) – I’d offer mine, but I’m maxed out with freeloader friends on my account.
As for Audible – I’d for sure cancel that – you seem to like podcasts more than books.

  7. barb says:

Hey Steve – pay attention tomorrow, I just read that Marta can’t fix that derailed train until tomorrow.
