I’m a winner, just not a big one.

I attended “XYZ Corp’s” “Holiday Party” last night at Sweetwater Brewing. After eating vegetarian food for dinner and as I was consuming free beer I heard my raffle number get called. As I rarely win raffles I was thrilled, especially as I started thinking about choosing one of the three sets of Apple AirPods that were sitting on the prize table — and then I was handed a $25 Starbucks gift card as my prize. Dangen! Don’t get me wrong, I am happy to spend $25 at Starbucks, but I really wanted those AirPods as I am too frugal to buy them.

Barb, I made this Acorn Squash Soup last night. The recipe didn’t go as planned, but I managed to make alterations and wound up with a delicious soup.

Sorry to be a Luddite, but what is an Airpod?

HEAT! Wonderful heat! (Sung to the tune of “Food, Glorious food”). I’m sure the dogs are happy. I still have 3 blankets on the bed… something about the weight is so comfortable.

I saw the derailed train cars had been removed from the tracks, but there were still 2 small service vehicles on the tracks. They were single tracking from CPK to ATL, which was causing a delay. They should be back to normal soon.

Debbie sent GLORIOUS pictures from today’s hunt. Apparently we’re also moving to Ireland.

    Happy Friday!

Steve – moving to Ireland – won’t your Scottish friends be mad at you if you do that?

I love having the weight of an extra blanket on the bed – one of the reasons we don’t have the thermostat in the house set all that high.

    • AirPods are Apple’s wireless earplugs. Everyone I know who has them loves them, but they retail for $149.

I don’t understand how they don’t fall out and get lost. People say they don’t, but I’m sure that would happen to me somehow… 🙄 And of course I’m not going to spend $149 on them either…

I have some that came with my phone, but have never used them.
and – I’m with Bonnie – I know I would lose them – so they are still in the box.

  3. Just realized that I have an Amazon delivery that I need to pick up today. I guess I’ll be getting some bonus exercise. Also, I have an order that was “delivered” to them but still not available for pickup; guess I’ll be having a conversation with an employee today too.

    • Last night I also realized that my reminder to pay my quarterly auto insurance bill had gone missing. Good thing my payment was not due until 1/22. 😅

      • barb says:

I got an email with my updated car insurance cards from USAA, but never got an email saying when the payment is due. So, I just paid it (with my AmEx, so I get my FF miles and I really don’t have to pay it until next month.

Nice evening celebrating a friend’s birthday with a few gals at Barcelona in Inman Park. My first time there. It was fine, but it’s no Midway Pub 😁. Going to my first non-campout SoCo tonight! Busted’s Christmas tree burning! Come on out you guys! It’s in my area, but you can do it! 🙌🏻 Come to Black Sheep Sunday too at Arabia Mountain… you’ll get to see my glory mole for my 20th jubilee 😉😂.

  5. Barb says:

There is a chance we will come to Black Sheep, Allan is working 2 days in a row, but hopefully he will get some sleep Saturday night so he doesn’t have to sleep all day Sunday.
Hash happy hour is in Dunwoody – that will be as much hashing as I can handle tonight.

    • I don’t know if this is an incentive, but GM and I both have a jubilee on Sunday so we’ll probably be bare-assed on the ice for that. 😮🥶🙃🙂

So, was looking thru my AmEx bill to find a charge, figured out the hotel we stayed at for the Hyox party charged me $327.20. hotel was to be paid for by Hyox. (PLUS – that room was not a $300 hotel room) I really need to look thru that bill more closely every month. Anyway -finally got the credit from the hotel.

    • I have a bad habit of not being thorough with my bills. When they “seem high” as they always seem these days, I do a rudimentary check for unknown charges.

Just got back from Amazon store. My replacement toothbrush heads, which Amazon claimed were “delivered” to their store were declared “missing” by the employee. Now I have to try and deal with getting a refund or replacement shipping.
