Happy Columbus Day, no?, Indigenous Peoples Day, no!, Monday.

I took my trash and recycling out to the curb this morning, and now realize that it might be for naught.

It was a good weekend with a smattering of exercise by riding a bike to and from Porchfest Saturday. Yesterday I bimboed the Black Sheep Hash for the first time; while fun, I do not want to make a career of it.

Hope you all had a good weekend as well.

It’s Happy Thanksgiving Day in Canada! That’s a yes. 🙂
I wish our Thanksgiving celebrations were in October too.

  2. For shits and giggles, here is the schedule that I made for Saturday:

    1300-1400: The Bitterroots @ 1515 Oakview Rd
    1400-1500: El Cheapo @ 135 Fayetteville Rd
    1500-1600: Brewery Road @ 407 Adams St
1600-1700: (open to hang with hash?)

My trash was mysteriously skipped last week and the week before. I was travelling the week before, but last week I confirmed my neighbors’ trash went way. I put in a “missed pickup” ticket on http://www.atl311.com and my trash was gone the next day. Completely surprised me that it worked.

I saw a couple of bands at Porchfest, but given that there were 240 bands, it’s almost mathematically impossible that we could have ended up at the same place at the same time. I like that festival, but to some extent it feels like drinking out of a fire hose. It does help to have friends that live in the neighborhood, that greatly improves the experience.

  4. Barb, how was Eggtoberfest?

It was a great time. Had great neighbors, 2 large groups so we got to taste test lots of different foods.

And—- go Jets last night! Beating the cowgirls!

It pays to know Paulie—after both of us had less-than-stellar Fridays and we were in need of beer-y goodness, he accompanied me to two new-to-me bars in Virginia-Highland (Limerick Junction and Atkins Park) before splitting fried cheese curds and a veggie burger at George’s. When I moved here I thought VaHi would be one of my regular hoods I hung out in, but that has not turned out to be the case…

While I heard both and trash truck and recycling truck in my alley at the regular times this morning, both bins remain full… 🤔 My trash usually *does* get picked up on holidays.
