Not much for you today. With the exception of my expensive trip to the dealership it was a great day to stay indoors by a heating duct. At least we didn’t get a shitload of snow like my brother and sister-in-law did.

Probably going to be a boring week of blogging since my plan is to remain close to home as much as possible during this spell of cold weather. I’ll be making a chore run later this morning and then batting down the hatches (sorry, no 2/2, Tu Tu, hash for me tonight). Somehow my plan seems appropriate for Groundhog Day.

I am also going to start reevaluating the value of certain services for which I pay in hopes that I can reduce my expenses. This is not a knee jerk reaction to yesterday’s bill, but that lump sum of cash paid out certainly didn’t help. I may start referring to the Mazda as the M1 instead of the M6 since yesterday’s repairs cost me as much as a new souped up MacBook Air M1 would. 😢

“XYZ Corp” is having a phased “Closeout Sale” of items which are no longer needed since we are not keeping our Midtown office. Sadly I was too slow to claim Ted E Bear, the five-foot tall stuffed bear that we had in the office (before I joined “XYZ Corp” was such a startup, pity that ended soon after my arrival…) before someone else could claim it. Though I really don’t need either, if my standup desk or some of the widescreen monitors come up for sale at a reasonable price I may have to act quickly.

Hope you are all staying warm and healthy.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 187.6 pounds (+1.6 from last week’s weigh-in); oops! I knew last week’s weight was an anomaly, but I shouldn’t have let it slide that much. I need to man up and get back outside and do some yard work!

  1. Huh. I am in the process of letting my seed potatoes “chit”, essentially let their eyes grow before planting, but they are all shriveling up instead. 😕

It was a fairly quiet day around here yesterday. The vet/chiropractor stopped in and gave shots and adjustments. Dinner at Rodgers BBQ for dinner then a grocery run at the Ingles across the street from the BBQ.

Mickey comes home today, so that will make for some interesting events. He has a big burn pile in his pasture and we hope he won’t be bothered by it. We need to get him a water trough and fill it so he has water, but otherwise we’re ready.

    thought I’d say hi.
Nothing exciting going on in Marietta, but hopefully I will get my 2nd vaccine shot tomorrow down at the Benz. Allan will be working down there , and since I have my card saying I had my 1st shot, I hope I can just breeze thru.

Allan’s mom took a tumble, so she’s all banged up – messed up shoulder (not sure how broken, Ortho said to give it a month & they will re-evaluate), messed up thumb on the other hand, and a banged up knee. She’s pretty miserable.

I’m finally going to just do it & buy a plane ticket to Iowa -too expensive & probably connecting flights – but I really need to get home.

Sorry to hear about Mary’s tumble.

I’m still trying to figure out my game plan for the end of this month. My mother’s birthday is on the 24th.

We are heading to FL the week of 2/13-2/21 – we will be in St Pete Thursday 2/18. I decided I want to go to the Dali museum to see that immersive Van Gogh exhibit.

We will be making the rounds, getting some serious mileage on my new car. Birthday party in Melbourne, then Vero, then Fort Myers, then St Pete, then Jax. Cant’ wear out your welcome seeing friends if its just for 1 night – right?

WTF, O? TJ got some ‘splainin to do? Probably out dancing again and fell off the aerial lift.

Steve – Its pretty miserable over there – Allan stopped by, they jacked up the couch a few inches so it is easier to get up & down. I dropped off some shepherd’s pie – TJ isn’t all that into cooking, so I figured I could help that way.
