Happy Hump Day.

Not much is going on in my world and at the same time I never feel relaxed.

I spent a good couple of hours cleaning up the backyard, mostly hacking with my chainsaw and then stacking branches. I was also able to cut up and move a portion of the smaller sections of the pine tree; the internal decay it has toward its top helps a lot. The lower, healthy, and thicker section still lies on the ground awaiting the day for a cutting party.

I can tell that my growing pile of yard waste in the far corner of the backyard will require further attention at some time in the distant future.

Given the state of my knee I took extra caution to ensure that I didn’t do any further damage. There is still much work to be done, but I am making progress. As I continue to clean up I am discovering how much more (sunny) yard I have now, and it almost makes my cramming of the raised garden beds into one tight section laughable. To be fair, when I originally planned the plot I had no idea how much the yard would open up with the removal of the pine and privet.

And here is a panorama-distorted view of the backyard (click through to see a larger version):

I was able to shower and motivate myself to make an Aldi run after calling it quits in the backyard. By and large the ITP Estate is now stocked with enough food to last a good three weeks. Beer on the otherhand is another story…

As has become the norm I passed out early on the futon while watching videos and slept hard for a couple of hours. And as has also become normal I woke often during the night and was awake for good before 5:00am.

Today the knee hurts a bit, and the tendinitis in my right arm is also bugging me. Getting old sucks! 🙄

Hope you are staying forever young, healthy, and happy.

Talk about “hot doughnuts now”, Krispy Kreme on Ponce burned up overnight.

Those Christmas trees are gonna burn, baby, burn! 🔥 I have a few more beers at my house.

I thought they sold beer at Aldi?

Nice pic of the backyard. Ready for a cookout!

Had to take my road bike to the LBS to have the bottom bracket tightened. (Sorry Allan). One minute of work- $11. But he had the tool and the knowledge.

Went by the equine vet to pick up meds. Followed their sign to the office and surprised them when I knocked on the door. “Oh, you were supposed to come to the window on the other side.” I followed the signs- make different signs if this isn’t they way. Grrr.

2+ hour Games call to discuss the new layout and discuss challenges. It will be an interesting year.

  4. My knee pain today is depressing me. 😢

  5. Add a fatal shooting on I-85 South that has shut it down, and it’s been a really interesting day already..

  6. What a beautiful weather day! Were I not injured and tied to a keyboard I’d probably go for a bike ride. I did sneak out for a few minutes to plant the raspberry plant that I purchased a few days ago. Hopefully it will thrive. 🤞🏼

My dad had great luck with blackberries in EP.

When he was still working, he travelled a lot and would always keep an eye out for them on the side of the road. I think he even carried some work boots and an overshirt so he could keep his work clothes clean if he stopped and picked.
