Back on the road, but not as early as I was on Friday. While I’d like to get home early enough to investigate the state of WLF I am not going to push it today. As always I have had a wonderful time hanging out with the Raleigh Royalty.

It would do me a world of good to skip a meal or three…

Yesterday I went for a hike in Umstead State Park. The hike was cut to about 4.5 miles because one of the parties had a grueling swim practice earlier in the day and wasn’t having the greatest time hiking. The hike did burn off a few calories which I later replaced with copious amounts of beer and food.

Last night we picked up Thai food from a food truck at a brewery. Thai food and beer, two things that taste great together! 😁

It would do me a world of good to skip a meal or three…

After dinner we, the adults, watched the three available episodes of “Only Murders in the Building”. I am really enjoying this series this far.

I am hoping my return trip doesn’t involve any more rocks to the windshield, or other car problems for that matter, along the way. I have scheduled routine maintenance for the M6 on early Thursday morning and it would be nice if that went as cheaply as possible given my lack of salary.

Hope your week is off to a healthy and happy start.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: postponed since I am not near my scale this morning.

A pretty good day yesterday following the hounds- while we didn’t see the quarry, the fields saw 2 foxes and a coyote. We were winging it, as we only had a radio and no tracker, so we were making educated guesses as to which way the hounds would chase.

“Breakfast” afterwards, catered by a good BBQ joint, followed by foxhunting 101 CLASS!!
For over an HOUR we were lectured AT by those knowledgeable. Even I knew most of it, but there are some new members that needed it I suppose.

Home, nap, tackle the tractor issue… not good news there. I did get the PTO to disengage, but have not been able to start the tractor, because he thinks it’s still engaged. Safety third and all that. Might be buying the service manual finally.

I hope the new T-Mobile unit shows up today, because the hotspot is very slow.

    Safe travels home…

    A busy not busy weekend.
Mtn biked Saturday, then a brewery way out in west Cobb, then a winery (in a strip center)out that way. Beers & wines were good.
Sunday did a walk on the Southside Beltline, parking at Best End brewery. A Roti food truck was giving away free food, I guess they got paid when Bonneroo got cancelled, and had lots of food to get rid of. I’d never had roti, so it was fun to try something new. It was pretty good, not something I’d want often, but it was tasty.
Monday was pretty lazy, got some things done around the house, a neighborhood walk, watched Thor movies.

I really should start looking for a job, as since Labor Day is now past, my summer vacation is technically over.

Just now back at the salt mine after a successful circuit through the South Carolina/Georgia coast. Drove up from Savannah this morning. We spent exactly enough time in Charleston to do it justice, could have used another day at Hilton Head (will definitely return there), and had a nice time in Savannah. We did a dolphin cruise in Hilton Head, and the dolphins did not disappoint. We did a riverboat cruise yesterday. The dolphin cruise was much better, but the riverboat cruise was something to do during the hottest part of the day. Cycled 11 miles on the beach in Hilton Head, the sand is so packed the bikes didn’t even leave tracks. Walked at least 25 miles between Friday and this morning.

In other news, let’s see what Barb’s tax dollars are up to: https://www.cobbcounty.org/parks/arts/events/cobb-county-parks-escape-rooms-prison-break Hmmm, that feels just a bit too on brand…

  4. Howdy all. Home and have given WLF a cursory water. I stopped a couple of times to pee, in Columbia to buy beer at Total Wine, and somewhere off I-20 near Aiken to buy an Impossible Whopper. Thankfully no incidents along the way.
