If there is a next year for Wee Little Farm there will either be no tomato plants, or a completely secured greenhouse or cage in which a small number of tomato plants are grown. After eating delicious tomatoes gifted to me on Friday, my inability to eat a tomato larger than a marble that was grown in WLF is frustrating.

I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was STRAP

  1. NYT Mini Crossword in 64 seconds. I was all over the map with my answers this morning.

    Heardle fail.

    • Barb says:

got Wordle in 3 – that was a lucky guess!
      Mini – over 2 minutes.
what the hell was that Heardle song?????

      • David says:

Heardle reminds me of Jim, the last boss in the 90s before becoming permanently self-employed. He was fond of saying “Even a blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut.” 😉

It was a long weekend of para bike racing this weekend. No serious injuries.. some road rash and one guy off the road and down and down an embankment. Had our motor not been right behind him to witness, we might have been looking for a while. We pushed Saturday’s TT start back an hour to let the weather settle out and that was the right call.

Sunday’s road race was only competitive in a couple fields. There are so few riders, there’s no way to have categories/fitness levels, so everyone with the same disability competes against each other. We had one woman on Saturday only had her road bike since Wednesday (normally rides a hybrid). Didn’t know how to shift gears- she did find the small chainring with help from us. Silver medal (only 2 in the category).

One section of the course was so steep there were volunteers helping the hand cycles from rolling backwards! Not enough weight on the front drive wheels and once you start sliding backwards, you’re done.

Now to complete all the paperwork!

  3. Life has been too stressful lately, so I am on a folly today. Hope this goes as well as I want…

    I’ll check in again later.

    • Steve says:

I hope your day goes as planned. I could use some folly!

Wordle in 4 with 2 starting words of HEART and AISLE. Mini in 1:57- I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many Z’s in a puZZle! AmaZing!

  4. David says:

Wordle in 4 with CRANE. NYT mini in 58 seconds. Heardle fail.

I reclaimed my front yard from nature so that my neighbors can quit thinking about calling code enforcement. It’s always a good sign when I have bins and/or bags of yard trimmings at the curb. My head has to be in a good place for me to have any shot at getting anything accomplished in the yard.

    • Barb says:

I’m horrible at yard work, thank god Allan is good at it.
I get the whole have to be in the right headspace thing, there are so many days I just “can’t” do it.

      • Steve says:

When I rolled in last night, the neighbor had mowed our entryway at the road! When I mow mine, I generally mow his as well, as it is just a couple passes with a 6′ mower. It was still a nice surprise.

As Debbie will tell you, I’m good at keeping things mowed, but not so much at weed eating and pruning.

    • I mowed, edged, and blew the debris yesterday. Man it was humid!

  5. Barb says:

its was a crazy weekend –
AC decided to crap out Friday night – AC tech (and the owner of the company) came out Saturday morning, we will be the owners of all new HVAC on Thursday. Decided to buy a window AC unit for the bedroom at Sam’s – and borrowed a portable unit from Sani/Kevin. Had a mishap with the portable unit – the little plug for the drain wasn’t fully tightened, had some good water leakage thru the hardwoods and the kids figured it out in the basement while playing pinball. Since of course we had no manual on how the thing works, we searched the internet on how to get it to drain properly (it has no bucket or whatever to remove to drain the water). Now we have it set up on sawhorses with with a hose drain going out the window.

    • David says:

Dang, yes, you win the crazy weekend prize for sure. You’ll be happy with your new A/C. We got forced into that a couple of years ago and now the house stays cooler and our electric bills are significantly lower.

      • Barb says:

its especially fun having no AC with visiting relatives staying with us.
Luckily – they don’t have any AC in Spain, so Katrina said it really isn’t bothering her too much.. We do have ceiling fans in most rooms, and these temporary units are doing pretty ok.

  6. Hello from Blue Ridge, GA!

I have finished a brutal 32 mile bike ride, and am getting ready to eat a real meat hamburger for lunch. Also on my agenda today is to visit a couple of breweries up here. One of them, Angry Hops, has a beer called “Wee Angry”. Lol. If they sell a t-shirt with that on it I will break my “no more T-shirts” rule.

I only wish that I had booked the AirBnB I was looking at yesterday.

    • If you find yourself in Blue Ridge wanting a burger, before 3pm, I recommend Sue’s Burgers.

    • Steve says:

Not too late to pull that trigger! Sounds like a tough ride.

      • My computer said one of the climbs I was able to ride up had short sections over 14% incline. I don’t know the incline of the final ascent I made, because I had to get off and walk it. The route I plugged into the computer was for 34 miles, but I found a shortcut back to the car that also eliminated one more hard ascent.

        Sadly no “Wee Angry” merchandise.

        Looking into the AirBnB now.

  7. Debbie says:

Wordle in 4 starting with arose.

That really stinks about the AC Barb. At least today is pretty pleasant so the small units don’t have to work too hard.

I made an appointment with an orthopedic clinic to x-ray my back. After lots of Dr. Google time, I think I have an avulsion fracture of my pelvis. There’s not much to do for it rather than rest and ice, but I’d like a better idea of a timeline for it to be better.

I’m headed to Seattle on Saturday for a couple days of meetings and then a couple of days of filming for our forklift video, so the timing really stinks.

The weekend was a very fun and relaxing girls weekend for a friend’s birthday. I needed that!

  8. As enticing as it sounds to spend the night in Blue Ridge I think I will save the $68 for the AirBnB and head home. I have been responsible, have had some fun, and am ready to sit in Atlanta traffic when I get that way.

I have purchased beer for home, not that I needed any. Lol

  9. Barb says:

    Sounds like no fun Debbie!

  10. Not that anyone truly cares, though at one time someone did, I have made it home safely. I miss feeling wanted.

  11. Oof, I have eaten too much. I doubt my weigh-in will be a happy event tomorrow.
