There is a legitimate chill in the air this morning. My new fire pit for Wee Little Farm has been assembled. I’m still searching for a person to share beers and evenings with me since it’s a lot less fun sitting outside and drinking beer alone.

I intended to have a WLF gathering this year, but suffice to say things haven’t gone to plan. Perhaps next year..l

I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts; my starter today was BLINK

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 187.0 pounds (-1.2 from last week’s weigh-in); a little better, but still not where I want to be — a constant theme in my life.

  1. NYT Mini Crossword in 42 seconds.

    Heardle fail.

For the record, I’d be surprised if any of us have found what we’re looking for. I know I haven’t. I have in some ways, but there is much that is in flux.

Wordle in 5 starting with RHYME. Mini in 43. Nailed Heardle 60s in one second. Could have gotten the 70s if I hadn’t gotten impatient and skipped my way out. No chance in hell on any of the other Heardles.

  3. On my walk yesterday I found a chestnut tree, and I don’t think they are horse chestnuts. The only drawback is that it’s on someone’s property, who I am acquainted with, so I considered picking up those which have fallen near the street but didn’t. Also, the covering of chestnuts are extremely spiky!

Wordle in 5, Mini in 2.

A quiet evening, except for the start of the new Jeopardy! season. Debbie made me back up to hear how they announced Ken- “the HOST of Jeopardy..”. While Myia (sp) does OK, she can’t hold a candle to Ken.

Made it out to SMP to deliver some milk crates I ordered. We store various stuff in them and were in need. Of all places, Duluth Trading sent me a message saying they had them and they are 25% off… little did they know I needed 20 of them! I heard the UPS truck the other day and knew they were out for delivery… in 7 boxes! (sorry, but it cracked me up).

Lola is having trouble getting up and down… this may be about it. We think she’s 10, which is pretty old for a Dane.

  5. Today is day one of three consecutive days that see me go OTP. Days one and two involve appointments, day three will be about recreation and beer drinking.

  6. Steve says:

    SMP- Stone Mountain Park.

    Don’t forget your passport…

  7. Jenka says:

Good morning! I am back from my travels to Massachusetts. Everything went well with my mom’s calling hours and graveside ceremony. When I go, Kevin has strict instructions to scatter my ashes and be done with it. Glad to be back to regular routine!

I read your blog every morning and then do Wordle and then forget to get back on and respond. Wordle in 6 using your word. Beautiful fall morning. Probably end up doing yard work and all the little errands that need to get done since I have the day off. My advice for you is to STOP waiting for someone to come along. Want a great relationship? Be someone worth chasing and worth being with. Want to change your life? Take ownership. The good, the bad and the ugly. You need to make yourself available if you chose to be. Quit trying to make relationships work that you know are unattainable. Get out and do what you love. I love hashing and so do you. Is it hard for me sometimes emotionally to be around some people? Of course it is. Do I sometimes go home and call or text my friends so they can talk me off a ledge? Of course I do. But it gets easier and easier and you finally realize what you’re pining over isn’t even worth it. Start living Paulie! Get back out there and do the things you love. We miss you.

      Preach it, reverend!

    • Not waiting, but you don’t get to 57 and unmarried by being good at meeting people.

I am not trying to make something work out, just the opposite, I am doing everything I can to never see her / them again. This avoidance includes hashing, which to be honest I don’t miss as much as I thought that I would. I do miss the camaraderie of hashers, but I can’t deal with the conflict. Am I weak? Sure. But, this is not the first time I have changed my life to keep me from being sad.

      Case Closed!

Wordle in 6, Mini in :35

Fairly productive day yesterday which was nice. Work is all about politics these days. We’re moving towards a leadership change that is unwanted by the current leader. He’s being petty and generally unpleasant. I can’t say I blame him as the board is handling it very poorly. I expect it will come to a head at the board meeting later this month. Things will probably go further downhill at that point (oh joy), but at least there will be an endgame.

My job, or existence thereof, will change dramatically in the aftermath so I’m on pins and needles.

I’m excited about the changing weather!! I’m sorry for all you heat lovers, but fall and winter are my jam.

  10. Barb says:

Wordle in 5 – took me a minute.
Mini in 53 deconds – that made me happy!
Heardle – pretty much all fails – but the 2000s remake was interesting. (but Bryan Adams version of course better)

Massage was lovely last night – and I too am really enjoying the lower temps & humidity. We are spending the evenings outside more often than not.
