It was nearly the perfect ending to an abysmal week, I thought that COVID had finally found me. There were confirmed reports from the wedding I attended two Saturdays ago, so when I started feeling crummy I was concerned. On Saturday I did a home test which claimed I was negative, but I spent the entirety of yesterday at home, inside watching tv, reading, or sleeping. I tried watching football games, but there are so many commercials during NFL games that I got disinterested and turned them off.

Still uncertain about the M6. I will have to return to the dealership regardless; on Friday I discovered that they did not replace a small cap in the console so there is now a hole where a hole should not be. As of now I will be driving it to Columbia on Friday. The whole purpose of spending the $1600 for the repair was to have confidence for taking the M6 on trips; it’s not like I have an abundant amount of free cash to rent cars for them.

I solved today’s Wordle in three attempts; my starter today was SAUCE

  1. NYT Mini Crossword in 0:28. Flit I should have been much faster.

I see WordPress still destroys Apple emoji. Ugh.

  2. Still not over my illness, though hoping the indicators I had this morning (I won’t gross you out) are a sign that the end is near.

    Wordle in 3, Mini completed.

Dermatologist was unconcerned with my issues and froze/burned most off. Meeting with the Po Po at the park went smoothly. They like us and have we’ve been working together for a long time. It shows.

Rode 16 Saturday. Had the wind at my back on a flatter section and motored right along. Felt good. Watched Alabama lose their 1st string QB and the backup came in and held his own. Watched Georgia try to lose to Mizzou.

Hung new lights around the tack stall as the old string had failed. Since LED’s failed we went old school and have actual bulbs in safety baskets. Looks like a coal mine.

Short week before Games activities start on Thursday.

    Bummer you aren’t feeling good.
We had a nice 5.5 mile hike at Kolb Farm (Kennesaw Mtn) and then went up to Burnt Hickory at Nicola’s request – (she is an ITP girl & thought they’d be near each other). A couple beers there, then went to Horned Owl for food & another beer, they had an Octoberfest thing going on, Kristina won the beer stein straight arm challenge.
It was a lovely weekend to be outside.

We rode the Mtn bikes Saturday at Allatoona Creek park, then went to dinner at Pantywaste’s house with some other 90s hashers. Good to catch up with everyone.

a Tripod Memorial will be held Wed at 4-6 at Willie Watkins Funeral Home down in the West End. I was surprised at that location, since they have lived in East Cobb for so many years.

  5. David says:

I am back to riding again. 32 mile loop from my house up to Buckhead and back on Saturday, 42ish miles yesterday to Stone Mountain. Saturday was a particularly glorious day to be out riding. Yesterday was great but a little windy at points. I rode yesterday with my friend Jamie for the first time, and since he hadn’t ridden in a while, I set Refuge Coffee in Clarkston as our destination, since I’ve ridden by it a million times and never stopped. Well, they’re not open on Sunday. Oh well, we continued on to Stone Mountain instead and hit the Decatur Waffle House instead. Basically the front half of the Waffle House is empty space, so there was miles of room for us to park our bikes inside.

I started WORDLE with STALE and spun my wheels until I finished in 5. The timer ran for 3:15 before I started realized it was on last night.

Jenka, did you go to the alt-Candler Park festival yesterday?

    • Well done. I wanted to ride, haven’t done so since my fail on Wednesday, but my health wouldn’t allow it.

Also, along with rest I am taking an alcohol break until Friday in Columbia, SC. *fingers crossed that my trip will go well*

      • David says:

Thank you! I hope you feel better soon. The alcohol break will do you good.

        • Thanks. I expect to be as healthy as I get in a day or two.

It’s only for a few days… I fully expect to hate my weigh-in tomorrow because I have gotten little exercise, and eaten and drunk way too much this week.

    • Jenka says:

Nope, it was cancelled so there wasn’t anything to go to. Unless you’re talking about the ball and the tour of homes? which you had to have a ticket for.

  6. Barb says:

Paulie – I got Wordle in 3 using your word too!

  7. Debbie says:

Wordle in 6, that was embarrassing. Mini in :47

It was a very productive weekend for me. October is my favorite month, the weather energizes me. Steve put in a gate that helps manage the horses a little better. However, it’s not effective on the donkey so there will be one more gate going in.

With Steve’s help, I finally put together the portable corral so I can take Phinney off property without him pulling away and running home. He absolutely will not tie to the trailer so now he has a little enclosure to keep him secure.

Two beautiful rides on Mickey and a successful outing for the new pony.

Sorry you felt poorly this weekend Paulie. Glad it is not covid though.

  8. Went out for a three mile walk around my neighborhood. I’m still not 100% but it was good to get out for a bit.

    • Steve says:

I sorta ran for 2 miles at lunch. I’ll be real glad after some rain and our gravel gets packed down. Hard to run on it when it’s so fluffy. Running on pavement isn’t so bad.

  9. Jenka says:

I had a good weekend. We went to Fontaine’s for dinner on Friday so Finn could have the crab legs. Saturday I went and got a tire replaced that had a slow leak; we went for Mexican while we waited for that. Then watched college football the rest of the day.

Sunday was a lazy football day. Actually got to watch the Patriots in my pjs on my couch for once! I also made butternut squash soup in the afternoon. Very relaxing!

  10. Jenka says:

Also: yesterday’s Wordle in 4 using SALET. That word is great!
