Met my buddy Hank for a few beers at the new Schoolhouse Brewing, The Gymnasium, located in Emory Point yesterday. I don’t recommend it for its atmosphere, although the large group of students who were so diverse they appeared to be gathered by Central Casting were mildly entertaining. As is the case at the original in Marietta, the beer selection is good and fairly tasty.

I am getting a little nervous about the weather prediction for the end of the week. If we really do have rain over the next three days and the temperature never eclipse freezing on Friday driving will be treacherous. If I weren’t planning to drive out of town this weekend I would be a lot less concerned.

I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was GRAIN

Wordle in 3. My friend Craig and I totally beat the rush last night at Muchacho. It was packed to the gills about 15 minutes after we got there at 5:45. Annoyingly they charge $7 for 14 ounce pours. Give me a full pint, damn it.

I was just at the General Muir on Saturday and I looked around for The Gymnasium but I didn’t see it. We almost never do breweries anyway because Kevin hates good beer.

Wordle in 3 yesterday using SALET. Heh.

    Can’t you leave on Thursday?

    • The Gymnasium is on the backside of General Muir. Thankfully they put up signs which led me to their front door.

Nope. If weather permits I have a ticket to Friday night’s performance of “A Christmas Carol” at Shakespeare Tavern.

Wordle i 4 starting with TASTE (don’t ask).

Ophthalmologist is not worried about the ocular migraine I had a couple of weeks ago unless I keep having them. New Scripps for computer classes and Debbie got a script for readers.

We decided to have another staycation tonight and are staying at Centennial Olympic Park at the whatever hotel and have dinner at Ruth’s Chris steak House. Then tomorrow we have tickets for the aquarium to go see the fish.

About to ride while the laundry processes.

    • Nice!

I had some garlic in the kitchen that started growing sprouts, so this morning I beat the rain predicted by shoving into some open ground in WLF. If it grows, fantastic, if not, no real loss.

This is likely not on y’all’s radar, but for action movie fans ( raises hand ), this is pretty cool.

I’m back in GA – but it seems almost as cold here.
0544 flight is way too early – my sister was so thrilled to wake up to take me 🙂
There were plenty of people at the airport in CR – so it isn’t just Delta that does crazy early flights.
There was a line to check bags, and I brought home a big glass bowl, so I was glad I was just carrying on.
Got upgraded to First Class, that is so wasted at 0544am. Had a glass of straight orange juice, but at least I get a real glass.

  6. Two things I value in people:
    – being respectful of my time by being punctual
    – rolling with the punches

David/Lurker and I had lunch today. Our original choice, Bomb Biscuit Co, turns out isn’t open Tuesdays, and the we found out my backup plan of Jack’s Pizza is only closed on Tuesdays even though Google claimed that it was open! And I had an amazing parking space… He and I then chose to go to Biggerstaff Brewing for lunch, where I lucked into an even better parking space, oh, and they were open for business.

    • And if all goes to plan, I got cash back for both my gas purchase prior to lunch, as well as my lunch.

      • Barb says:

I thought I was going to get screwed by Upside getting gas in Iowa, to get a receipt I had to go inside, but I had to prepay if I wasn’t paying at the pump. So, it didn’t have the gallons, etc. on it like the regular receipt. But – I got my $2.20. There were a few restaurants in CR with 23% back, but they were Mexican, and there was no way that was happening with my parents. Next time I’m there for a few more days, I’ll find an old friend and get some cash back!

    • David says:

It was a great lunch! I’ll have a beer with you another time, today just wasn’t the day. I just can’t day drink any more. Thank you for the kind thoughts!
