Don’t look now, but Daylight Saving Time starts this weekend.

Betsy and I are eschewing our weekly Saturday walk to volunteer with Trees Atlanta along with our friend Lynette. We’ll be doing some cleanup at the Kirkwood Urban Forest. For anyone here is heading to Newnan tomorrow for Black Sheep Founders Day, have a great day. I’m obviously taking a pass this year, not that my ailing knees would allow me to traipse through the swamps of Newnan.

I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts; my starter today was REMIX. Today was not my best Wordle strategy day.

Wordle in 5 starting with AISLE and again had 4 out of 5 in 4! Damnit.

My story is I was getting ready to ride yesterday when Debbie informed me we were meeting friends for dinner in Gay. Oh well, I guess I can miss my workout. We had heard good things about this place. I think it’s the 3rd reinvention of this space as a restaurant that I know of, maybe more. While they bill themselves as a steakhouse, only 2 steaks on the menu, which no one ordered. All meals served were good, so we will go back.

2 and a half inches of rain so far and it’s currently POURING!

Wordle in 4 starting with LITHE. I had all 5 correct letters in 3, just in the wrong order. I don’t recall doing that before. Mini in 45. It’s a massage day (yay!).

I did a guest speaking gig at Georgia State’s Buckhead campus last night. My alma mater keeps spreading like kudzu. This isn’t a criticism though, I think they’re being good stewards of downtown and Summerhill in particular.

    • steve says:

When you say Summerhill, I’m not sure I know what that is. I was thinking Capitol Homes?? Are they equivalent?

      • Summerhill is the neighborhood that abuts Turner Field (yes, I know it has a different name now) to its east. Summerhill may sprawl as far east as Grant Park, and north to I20. I don’t know what is South of it, Pittsburgh? Mechanicsville?

The strip along Georgia Avenue has become quite nice, and there is a Publix shopping center being built in one of the Braves old parking lots.

Wordle in 4 again, using phone. I do plan on trying to make it down to Newnan for the Founders Day hash. Saturday looks like the better weather day. I hate the time change. Never can get that one hour sleep back. I need to find time to ride since I committed to STU and Big BRAG. Registered for the Peachtree Road Race. This will make number 38 for me. Hard to believe I have been in Georgia that long. Hope y’all have a great week-end. Safe travels to Barb on their return trip.

    • Have fun in Newnan, Please tell the BS regulars that I say “Hi”.

I moved to Georgia in 1995, so I’m at 28 years.

Keeping my fingers crossed about my knees, as I am really looking forward to STU and doing all of Big BRAG this year.

    • steve says:

Any swamp you come across on the hash tomorrow will be full to the brim! Be advised.

I was thinking of joining y’all for a day of big BRAG, but I think it conflicts with the BMW rally, which I plan on taking an entire week plus for to get there and return. In Richmond, so lots of good riding along the way.

    • Barb says:

AH4 2200 is Saturday, and the Founders Day Sunday.
Should be plenty of shiggy for y’all if you hash.
Weather has been great here in southern AZ, gonna be 80 in Phoenix this afternoon.

  4. Barb says:

Bisbee, AZ is a very cool little town. I think we will come back someday & explore it a little more. I’d like to do the Copper Mine tour. We stayed at the Copper Queen hotel, very old historic place, didn’t see or hear a ghost (again).
Very hilly town, they have a race called the Bisbee1000, it’s incorporates 9 staircases into the race. I have the map, we actually climbed 1 staircase of 155 steps that wasn’t on the race route.
Couldn’t hang late enough, but a dive bar (St Elmo’s) had a bowling for dildos event starting at 9. Would have been a hilarious time I’m sure.

Today we are heading back to Phoenix, 3 hours plus, the plan is to go see a Cactus League game. We don’t care which teams, just 1 convenient to getting back to my sister’s place. Best location is the Cubs/WSox game, but their tickets are pricy ($34). So it will be the A’s & the Rangers ($16 tix)

  5. Jenka says:

This rain has thankfully washed the pollen off my car. It was really bad!

Looking forward to the weekend. I took Monday off because I hit my vacation accrual limit and if I don’t take two days off in March I won’t accrue on April 1. So three day weekend for meeeeeeeee!

  6. Barb says:

And Paulie, in case you hadn’t heard, Dain passed away yesterday from her cancer.

  7. Debbie says:

Wordle in 3 starting with AISLE. Two days in a row with really lucky guesses!

The restaurant we went to had good food and good service. I hope it makes it. I was surprised by how packed it was on a rainy weeknight. That bodes well.

Tomorrow is closing hunt and I pretty much missed the season. I only went out once and road whipped a few times. It’s a shame because our huntsman is retiring after nearly 50 years of hunting hounds. He’s very good at it and well respected. I expect we’re in for a rough few years before a new regime is established.

Barb, I missed your question about the puppy the other day. She’s a Border Terrier which is a fairly rare breed in the US. Every breeder I spoke with wanted a fortune for their puppies and required that I show it for a year (kaching!) before they would release breeding rights. It ended up being less expensive to import one. And she’s coming from the area where the breed originated and was bred for their original purpose rather than for show.

  8. Life never fails to amuse. I went out to check my mail only to find a bag of food from Hoots Wings on my doorstep. While not vegetarian I didn’t order it. There is no name or address on the receipt stapled to the bag and when I called Hoots they told me they couldn’t help me. If not for fear of ants and such eating it, I’d leave it on the doorstep, not that anyone will want the wings that have been sitting outside for an hour…

    • Barb says:

I’m sure the wings are fine. You should have eaten them.
      Just a dumb driver.

    • Sally says:

On a Saturday not long ago, Uber Eats dropped off a dozen donuts and donut holes at the business next to ours. Funny thing is, that business is closed on the week-ends. I waited awhile to see if any one else might claim them. When no one did, I took them and we all enjoyed some donuts! 🙂

  9. Barb says:

At the Oakland A’s / Texas Rangers game. Bleacher seats in the shade are $20, lawn seats in the outfield are $16. It’s 78° & sunny.
I do not care about baseball, but it’s a lovely day to sit outside.
