Not much to report today other than I am rather tired, and sleeping in this morning.

Last night I rode hard, it was a perfect night to be outside.

I solved today’s Wordle in six attempts; my starter today was DOULA.

Wordle in 3 starting with GRAPH. I managed to prevail over Connections with 2 strikes.

    • Barb says:

      Thought you were quitting Connections.
I missed 1 on the 1st try, after that I got it done.
Had no idea my last line, glad you don’t have to figure out what the 4 words have in common.

Gotta get out of bed & fire up the work computer……

      • David says:

I keep swearing it off but then peer pressure keeps bringing me back. 🙂 At this point it now depends on my mood for a given day. Over the weekend I was ready to burn it down.

Wordle in 5 and 1 strike on Connections.

Nothing much to report from the Games meeting. We have a little prep work to do “for the park” which will help them and us. Not sure when we will get around to it. Our park contact joined us for the meeting. A good guy we like working with. The park has started to add us into their advertising and numbers are starting to show it. Be careful what you wish for…

Wordle in 6. Won’t say what I started with. I had the 1st and last 3 letters. Finally guessed the correct second letter!! It was almost a bust. One mistake in Connections. I did manage to get in 52 miles yesterday on the Comet. Dang, I was slow. I will get myself to Cedartown on the 3rd. Not sure if I’ll get back. :). Mowed and edged the yard. Nice run at the mountain last night. The weather was perfect. Might see if I can get my emissions done this morning before heading to the dentist and then work. Might meet a friend after work for a beer. Not sure what brewery. On a happy note. Tasty China is finally open!

    • steve says:

      And there was much rejoicing!

    • Tasty China waited for Barb to be out of town, forcing us to wait that much longer…

      • Barb says:

y’all can go without me – Allan is around, he will go…..

Yesterday was a long day, (see my comment I posted last night on yesterday) then of course I didn’t sleep well.
Mom lost her balance & I caught her, (I follow her around like a toddler, sometimes she just doesn’t want to use the walker) but she still bumped the door jam, I’ll find out today how sore she is. Hoping they sleep until at least 11am. We have the home health care coming at 1pm to get my Dad to shower & shave. Can’t wait for that fun…..

I’ve found watching sports is the easiest thing to watch on TV, so we watched the Atlanta Dream lose in basketball last night. I think its the playoffs. (I wasn’t paying that close of attention.

  4. iPad Mini finally updated to iPadOS 17 yesterday. And in attempting to play around rebooted once. This is not a condemnation of iPadOS, but of the device. I bought the iPad Mini as a refurbished unit, and it has had problems ever since I received it. I should have returned it, but didn’t for some reason that I no longer remember.

  5. Sally says:

My car passed its emission’s test. Good for another year. I did not realize that only 13 counties in Georgia require the emissions test. Good luck today Barb! Aging parents is not fun. We can’t go to the new Tasty China without Barb.

    • Woot! Yeah, it’s only us polluters in the Atlanta Metro area.

Agreed. Barb must be present for the inaugural meal from Tasty China 2.0

      • steve says:

Yeah, if you lived in the country like we do, we don’t need no emission test like you city folk. One advantage…

        • David says:

That was a silver lining back in the day when my “wife” was going to vet school in Athens. We had our Atlanta house and a rental house. I registerd our cars in Clarke County for 4 years and had much lower ad valorem taxes and no emissions!

  6. Watching the second episode of “Welcome to Wrexham”. How dare they put out such a tear jerking episode. I’m not crying, you’re crying!

  7. Jenka says:

Busy, busy week! We went to Ocean Wave (formerly Harry & Sons) for dinner last night for something light.

There’s a new Sweetgreen in Emory Village that just opened last week. Yesterday we had them cater a lunch and they sent 5 different bowls. All of them were raw kale. I like kale, but it was a LOT. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t good.

    • Speaking of kale, one of today’s WLF chores was to transplant blue kale seedlings. I believe I am late, but I also sowed cabbage seeds today.

Sweetgreen is another of those hip chain “casual” fast food places that I try to avoid. Of that category the only one I seem to return to is Tin Drum.

      • Jenka says:

I really like the trend towards healthy, fast meals, though. It used to be I couldn’t get a salad anywhere, now I choose between 7 different healthy purveyors and it gets to me fast.

        • Understand. I’m just one of those freaks who dislikes the homogenization of eating options. If I could always eat at an independent restaurant, or *maybe* a local chain, I’d be happy.

    • David says:

A little bit of kale goes a long way in my book.

  8. Bit of a hodgepodge lunch using some of the things I purchased at the farmers market on Monday.
    – A fake caprese salad using a tomato and havarti instead of mozzarella
    – Two ears of corned steamed to perfection

    • Barb says:

I just had cereal with Dad, Mom is still sleeping.
She said she was getting up, so I stripped her bed.
then she wanted to go back to sleep.
So – I put her in the other bedroom.

Right at home “nurse” is coming to get Dad a shower & shave – this should be fun.

      • Barb says:

Dad is extra PITA today – no shower. & no shave. Oh well……
But Lisa is very nice, we got them both dressed, made beds, vacuuming, etc. Hopefully next week will be better.
