There is not much to report in my world from yesterday. Yesterday morning I raked a few leaves and chipped a bunch of branches. In the afternoon I made my post office and bank runs, forgetting to deposit one of my checks which means I’ll have to do another bank run soon. Oh wait, I may be able to deposit it via a mobile app! I made these runs up in Sandy Springs before meeting buddies for beers. I hit an amazing amount of traffic on my drive home, all the while feeling extremely hangry, reminding me why I don’t enjoy going up to Sandy Springs.

Today I will do as much choring as my aching feet and back will allow. And if that doesn’t amount to much I can be productive by cleaning up the piles of paperwork that are strewn about the house.

Not much clutters my calendar this weekend. Barb, when are we catching up on Survivor?

Wordle: two, my starter was TWINE
Connections: perfect, Blue > Yellow > Green > Purple

Likewise- Wordle in 2 and perfect connections.

I may be going to Hell. The fence is now hot. I let the dogs out and they all brushed it and yelped. George cried out and ran for the back porch- he has barely gone outside since. He’s a delicate, sensitive boy and I may have brought his safe zone crashing down. We’ll see.

Chicken in the air fryer to make burritos last night- I thought they came out pretty well.

We think the tax office has all the correct paperwork to issue our tag for the truck. We shall see.

I hope he does. He’s still hinky about coming in the door sometimes. I think he started through once when we first got him, then retreated and that didn’t go well.

And the SpaceX launch has moved to tomorrow at 0800.

  3. FUCK! I forgot that I had an auto service appointment this morning at 7am.

    • So much for a relaxing morning. I have raced down to Morrow to beg for forgiveness, and am waiting for them to get whatever work needs to be done completed. To add to my stress their phone system wasn’t working this morning so I raced down on the hope they could fit me in.

        Why not just reschedule?
Does the car have an issue?
I’m still amazed you still go to the dealership- but I have a real hatred for dealerships from past experiences

        • I’m traveling again next week, probably on Tuesday, to Raleigh and I want to have the work done beforehand. I am fairly certain the brake pads need to be replaced given the diagnoses I’ve had in the past. The dealership is more expensive, but believe it or not it’s conveniently located (my trip today took 25 minutes) and I know they usually have the parts in stock. Since I stopped going to Lam I “trust” this dealership as much as I trust anyone who works on cars.

    Nothing exciting in my world.
At a doc appt this morning.

Went to Parrothead Happy Hour last night at The Wing.
Caught up with some people, might have been talked into going to Dixie Tavern to see a battle of 2 bands Saturday night, a 80s vs 90s thing. A friends nephew is in the 90s band (mostly grunge music). If I can get a table reserved – yep, I’m too old to stand all night- we may go.

I went to the edge on Wordle and stood and looked down, meaning it took 6. It was ameliorated by a clean sweep on Connections. Fuck all y’all getting it done in 2.

Poor George. That’s a rough day at the office.

I looking forward to a period of quietude during which I will hopefully reduce the depth of the chasm that I troll around in at work.

…and the horses we rode in on! Thank you.

George is a lovely boy and does so well with the other dogs, as they play HARD and he just takes it.

  6. Jenka says:

Better that George is a little frightened than to run away into the wilderness. He’ll probably get over it; but if he doesn’t, he’s still safer.

A college buddy of mine from upstate NY is in town for a conference so we met for dinner at Alma Cocina last night. Can’t believe I’ve known her for 30 years!

Tonight I’m going to the Hawks game with my friend Sarah. Otherwise no plans for the weekend.

  7. Giving the virtual middle finger to Experian, who since I froze my credit, have been sending me emails for all of their other services. Fortunately neither Equifax nor TransUnion have followed suit.

  8. Barb says:

Sal gets back today – I’m thinking Sunday night to watch Survivor – let’s see what she says.

  9. Jenka says:

Connections perfect: Blue (obviously) — yellow — green — purple.

Wordle in 4 using my usual starter.

  10. Barb says:

    Wordle- I crashed & burned –
Connections – 1st 2, fast, then finally for the 3rd category – took me a minute
    Blue > Yellow > Green > Purple

  11. Bob says:

Went to wordle site and got a pop up asking if I wanted to turn on “Hard mode”. Really? I struggle with regular mode, I would have zero chance with hard mode.

No mistakes in Connections, funny though I thought purple was football players LOL

Deck railings getting stained today, inside is done and ready to be put back together. Get to put all the furniture back and hang all the pictures now, fun times. We took a chance and it looks like we will be ready for house guests for turkey day.

  12. Back from dealership, not a moment too soon because I was becoming hungry. I didn’t want to eat lunch out, even though there were many good options available, but I was able to make it home and eat a sausage on a roll covered with pepper (WLF) and onion. Paulie? Sausage? Yep, a package of sausage rescued from my mother’s freezer.

Had to breakaway from work to go help Debbie. Apparently, she cut the corner a little too close in Luthersville yesterday when she took Tanner to her office. The rear wheel on the right side of the trailer is a complete loss, as is the tire. Bent the $hit out of the rim and that punched a gash in the sidewall. Oh well, it’s only money.
