Things of note:

March is Phoenix Flies by the Atlanta Preservation Center month. I am trying to figure out the free tours in which I can partake while I am in Atlanta this month.

This coming Saturday is Georgia Beer Day. I have a collector’s glass from each year starting in 2021, so I will be heading out to get the fourth in my series.

Today is the two hundredth “consecutive” day of learning German on Duolingo, since I restarted. Admittedly I have had two or three days for which I used a “Streak Freeze” to compensate for either being unable to learn, or forgot to do so.

Wordle: three, my starter was BLAST
Connections: perfect, Green > Yellow > Purple > Blue

I’m waiting to get off of this godforsaken airplane. The flight was fine apart from a minor delay leaving LA, but my legs are killing me. At least I’m at gate B14 as opposed to E32 that was threatened. Wordle in 3 thanks to FLOWN. Two misses on Connections.

      • David says:

Thanks! My left knee, which is usually my “good” knee, was screaming at me when I got home so I took an epsom salt bath and then laid down for a couple of hours. The show must go on this afternoon, meaning I’m teaching an Excel webinar at 2:00, so I have since showered and resumed my post at the salt mine.

Welcome back. I just made plane reservations for my trip this fall to Amsterdam. I may be eating Ramen Noodles for a month but at least I got the tickets. :). Step one.

Supposed to be a very stormy day for Georgia Beer Day.

No dogs this morning. It’s a little quiet in the house.

Wordle in 3 starting CARDS. One mistake in Connections: g, y, b, p.

      • Stormy weather may make it easier for me to get my glass! My day is wide open because Betsy has another obligation Saturday morning so we will meet for coffee and a walk tomorrow instead.

I’m still trying to plan my trip dates and will make my flight arrangements when I do. Since I’ve only earned a third of my $3500 so far, I too will be economizing until the trip.

      • David says:

Thanks, Sal! That’s exciting that ou have your plane ticket nailed down! From what I understand of bike infrastructure in the Netherlands, y’all re just gonna be ill when you get back to the States after your trip. 😉

  2. Had another go at Strands today. Found two words which I thought fit the theme, but we’re not what they intended. Finally settled into the correct lane and found everything without needing the hint.

    • Sally says:

Should I even look at that game? Step away from the computer.

    • David says:

I’m not sold on it. The stupid “Spanagram” is highly annoying because you have to drag your finger just so to catch all of the letters without overlapping onto others. I accepted one hint today, and found the rest. Yesterday’s puzzle was easier for me.

      • Jenka says:

Hmm. I didn’t know that. I use a mouse, and it is very easy. But if I had to use fingers that would be annoying.

        • David says:

I’ll have to try that. It’s annoying as fuck on an iPhone screen. The short runs are fine, but when you have to snake through letters from top to bottom without picking up any strays then it’s definitely a thing.

  3. It’s going to be a beautiful day around here, I really should take advantage of this weather.

  4. Steve says:

Wordle in 2 and my starting word only got me 1 letter!

After breakfast yesterday was grocery shopping by Debbie while I got the trucks oil changed. Then it was on to preparing the road frontage for new plantings. Apparently Debbie doesn’t like the wild natural look along the road so we are going to clean that up or at least I am.

I’ll be dusting off my motor scooter later today for a ride to lunch somewhere as yet determined.

45 minutes on the trainer last night – a set of short, hard efforts. .

Welcome back, David. Get some sleep.

  5. Jenka says:

Congrats on 200 days! That is quite the accomplishment, most people don’t stick with it very long.

Went to the Hawks game last night, it was a great game and the Hawks actually won. I tried the wings at JR Crickets. Without any point of comparison I will concede that they are the best wings at State Farm Arena. But that is as far as I will go.

    • Thanks. If memory serves me right, I restarted when I jokingly started looking at Dutch ahead of this Belgium trip. Yes, I know they don’t speak Dutch in Belgium. However, this restarted my German journey, which will hopefully help me later this year.

  6. Jenka says:

Wordle in 5 — I had letter 2, 3, and 5 on the second guess but I kept guessing 1 and 4 until I got it. Do you know how many words have those same letters? Ugh.

Connections perfect: green > yellow > purple > blue.

Strands: I made two mistakes before I figured out the theme and it was smooth sailing from there.

  7. Back from an hour or so doing “yard work”. Mostly what I did was storm cleanup, week killing, and random seed spreading.

  8. Bob says:

Wordle in 4, should have been 3
Perfect connections green-yellow-purple-blue. I stared at the words for far too long to make the first connection, then they sort of made sense.

Welcome back David, I enjoy reading about your adventures.
I wish I was in town this weekend Paulie, I would join you in your quest for that beer glass 🙂
Lunch ride today, it is beautiful out there! Lunch rides are great except now I’m starving and stinky and have a meeting starting in 2 minutes. Oh the sacrifices we make.
Tennis practice starts this week, since it was too wet yesterday we play today. Good times

    • David says:

Thanks, Bob, and I’m glad to see your very well-placed priorities with regard to lunch rides! You can always shower and eat some other time! 😉

  9. Barb says:

CRAZY BUSY DAY – IT LOOKS SO NICE OUT.
