I’m calling it, the Atlanta United are not a good soccer club.
Hope everyone’s Easter weekend was fun. If not for some medical issues, mine was. Inexplicably, only ITP-Reader Sal and I wound up riding from Rambo Rd to Rockmart, and back yesterday.
Today I’m hoping to get more plants in the ground ahead of a predicted damp week. I’m extremely disappointed in myself, because 2025 was supposed to be the year I finally keep decent records about what I’ve planted. Though I had a note identifying eighteen tomato plants, six different groups of three, I discovered yesterday that deleted the information from that note without marking the rows in the tray. Dangen!
Wordle: three, my starter was SPADE
First! Oh, wait…
Wordle in 2, just like yesterday!!! And this was a first- I had all 5 letters in my first guess.
Around 30 descended on our home yesterday for Easter lunch. It was a pleasant enough gathering, but I’m glad it’s done. Now our goal is to keep the house this clean for a while!
Saturday, I got 17 miles in- amazing what happens when you take over a week off from the bike. There was almost a thousand feet of climbing in those miles, but still.
Apparently, the Fed decided to go back to the office full time starting in September. And I also read something about charging us to park in our own deck?? More later.

When do you retire?
LOL. Emory charges us $60 per month to park on campus!
We never planned to have enough parking spaces when the building was first built- we sit adjacent to a MARTA station, FFS, and have a entrance less that 50 yards away. While there is talk of charging to park, they are also upping a benefit to cover it if you’d like to use it for that, so it’s a wash.
My last day will be Sept. 30 (at the moment).
Hey Steve- I was just thinking about Kat – I’m guessing she gets to stay fully remote with her job? I need to ask her.
And will you let them talk you into staying longer? More money…
Unfortunately after visiting the eye doctor last week the ointment prescribed is not only not helping, but in addition to my eyelid being swollen, it’s now sore. My next appointment isn’t until May 1.
Next week…. hang tough.
Had a great long weekend up at the cabin. Friday we left as soon as Finn went off to school and stopped at the POA office to pay our annual dues and got a new sticker for my car for the security gate. Then the alarm company came to install our new door lock and the electrician came to fix a few dead outlets and diagnose another problem. The roofer never showed, so now we will need to find another one. Saturday I spent ALL DAY out on the deck from morning until bedtime. It was glorious.
We are in Fort Collins with Drew & Michelle.
Had a great time catching up, and we head back to the airport in a little while.
They boarded the dogs (Skye & Otto) as these 2 don’t always take well to strangers, and they didn’t want to deal with it.
We went on a 3+ mile hike yesterday, because of the snow a couple days ago, some trails were closed, but we found one nearby that wasn’t.
Please tell Easy and Michelle that I say “Hello”.
I did.
They are smart dog owners — know your dog’s limitations and work with them instead of ignoring them. I miss my dog, wer wer.
The growth in WLF is astonishing. Sadly, most of it is unwanted, in the form of weeds and plants going by to flower.
Putting some more plants into the ground ahead of the rains, and doing one of my least-favorite chores, cleaning pots and trays.
Trying to figure out the toll charges with the rental car, but we left early enough (Drew & Michelle both had work to do) so we will take the long way to the airport.
My hummingbird feeder is leaking. It appears something has happened to the top, allowing it to lean, thus dripping out the sugar water. Harrumph. I guess I will take it down today, and look at it this week.
Wordle in 5 – I do not know that word
Food & 2 beers at the airport – way too much money.
I don’t think Atlanta is as bad, I don’t think.
A captive audience and no competition.
And probably sky high rents, no pun intended.
