This has already been a strange year for WLF, and I may point the finger at the bunnies I’ve seen and chased. Something has been eating my marigold plants, and my bean plants, before they have the opportunity to flower and create beans. Also I think some of my plant stunted growth problems is due to poor timing and management on my part. This has been frustrating.
Yesterday I harvested some potatoes, but not enough nor large enough given the cost of seed potatoes. I also transplanted some corn into the plot of soil from which none of the corn kernels I planted there a couple of weeks ago has germinated.
After going out to eat and then to drink more beer I was very disappointed with myself.
Wordle: three, my starter was PERIL
My check of WLF this morning revealed a little more erosion where I have one of the ITP Estate’s downspouts draining, and a broken branch on a tomato plant that was growing so “well” that it couldn’t support the weight of this thick branch.
Wordle in 3.
Took a ride on the scooter and got a little sideways!! There’s a sign for an old cemetery I’ve seen before, but never found it. I again tried going down this dirt road and got to a point that was really muddy. Apparently, there was a tire track or groove I didn’t see and the bike took a tumble. Nothing damaged but my pride, as I doubt I was going 10 mph and the crash bars did their job. Gave the scooter a nice bath once I got home to at least clean the mud off the side!
I was thinking I would head to the hot tub last night before bed, but the sound of heavy rain kept me indoors. I’m not above sitting in the hot tub with an umbrella, but that’s for a light shower.

After my stupid tumble on Saturday I was glad my Apple Watch finally did the right thing by detecting the fall and asking me if I was okay. Too many times there are false positives and I have to dismiss the pop up before it dials 911.
I think mine is set to do that, but my “crash” was so gentle, it never noticed.
Thank you for getting the blog back on the air.
busy enough weekend.
Saturday – Paulie gave the recount of the ride – at a store stop at 38 miles(I think) Allan & I split from the group, as I wasn’t up for 65 miles. (not sure my battery would have made it that far, it would have been close). We did 51 – it was a good #, and we got in before the rain started, so we were sitting under the pavilion thinking we were glad we weren’t on the 65 mile route.
Sunday I went to Wheelhopper, it was right here in Marietta, I skipped part of trail at Sope Creek, my legs were tired & I wasn’t up for climbing the single track.
After all the rain Sunday night, our plan to go mtn bike at Allatoona Creek trails wasn’t happening – so we went for a walk on the Bob Callen trail (Rottenwood Creek was roaring) – went thru The Battery, I was curious how busy it would be on a non game day holiday day. There were people around, but wasn’t very busy. Most stored & restaurants were open. Walk ended up being almost 5 miles.
wordle in 3 – starting with Resin (had to come up with my own word 😉
Whew, what a weekend! We made it up to the cabin on Friday just at the start of our delivery window, so I dropped Kevin there and went to the Ellijay Lowe’s to pick up the propane converter for the gas stove. The part wasn’t in and would not be in until June 10, when we will be out of the country. It would have been really nice to know that, but of course they never informed me! Anyway, they delivered and installed the fridge, and delivered the stove and took the old one away, but now we have no stove at the cabin until we can get it hooked up, probably July. Saturday the dishwasher got installed. We also did a bunch of chores around the house the whole weekend and I came home yesterday feeling really tired.
Had to take Finn to the orthodontist this morning so I was late getting in.
so you can’t get a propane convertor at a different store?
I probably could have, but it was complicated by the fact that the Lowe’s delivery people are not allowed to touch the gas line so we had to have someone from the gas company do the installation anyway. Well, the gas company would not send someone out without a specific time, and if they showed up and the stove wasn’t there yet, then they leave. We got the delivery window the day before and called the gas company to set up a time at the end of the window, and they said they could not fit it in that quickly. WTF? I was all, don’t they know that having a delivery window is how EVERYONE delivers appliances? So we have to set up a future appointment anyway.
Geez, nearly 4pm? Where did the day go?
