Happy Goddamn Sixtieth birthday to me!
As you read this I am out torturing myself. Were this any other day I’d be skipping the ride based on the unfavorable health conditions I’m facing.
You may not read much from me today, or the rest of the week, since I’m going to shut down a wee little bit. I need to make some life choices/changes and am going to concentrate on them 99% of the time. I will comment after my bike ride today so that you all don’t think that I crashed or keeled over, which will be the case if you don’t see anything posted by 13:00.
Wordle: three, my starter was SIXTY. No chance in hell it would be today’s word, but I had to play it.
Happy Birthday! Have a safe and FUN ride.
Happy birthday bud, hope you had a good ride.
Wordle in 4!
A very happy birthday, my friend. I know this isn’t how you wanted your 60th to play out, but we are all glad to have you in our lives.
Not much to report this morning. A bit of mowing between rain showers yesterday. More expected today. I decided to make sure my phone could stream Peacock and I’ll be watching the stage finish later. Not much but fairly flat before the sting in the tail.
I shall be hoisting a pint in your honor later. Perhaps we can ride this weekend and hoist one in person?

Happy birthday Paulie.
Many happy returns…

You are as old as me again!
When you get back – let’s definitely get together – and maybe get David too?
He’s going to be old like us in 2 more days.
Hope the ride goes well.
WORDLE IN 3 – I tied Paulie – with a really lucky 2nd word guess.
I did nothing yesterday besides laundry & work.
Gregg & Deb left about 0930 to head back home to Norfolk- the house is quiet again.
“Happy” birthday, Paulie.
Feliz compleanos, WLB.I still enjoy keeping in touch with everyone through this blog. Hello to everyone. FP, enjoy your retirement.
Whiner
hi Whiner!
Hey Whiner!! Good to hear you’re still among us.
Happy sixtieth birthday, Paulie! Hope the ride is amazing and that you go to the Tourists game! Doesn’t matter where you are or what you do, celebrating a milestone is celebrating a milestone.
I’m on vacation this week but it didn’t feel like it started until we dropped Finn at his mom’s Sunday morning after two weeks with him. Yesterday I spent all day reading and when it started pouring in the afternoon I made myself some tea, how’s that for cliche? Today I made Kevin go to his office so that I can have some alone time. Tomorrow we head to Amelia Island for a “work” conference which involves a LOT of people time.
LOTS of people time – I understand that – it was really nice doing nothing yesterday.
It’s pretty necessary if I have to be “on” for three days.
Forecast says it’s going to rain the whole time. Guess that means no pool.
Sixty(-two) miles done!
Celebratory cold, leftover pizza is my reward. Beer will be consumed when my body can handle it.
Sometimes cold leftover pizza is even better than the original. Glad you got some sunshine today!
W00T!! Good on you!
Woot! Well done!
I have been following the RAGBRAI page on facebook, the FOMO is off the charts! Can’t wait to start planning for next year!
I can imagine. Next year will be a blast.
Bob – with the BRAG bus?
No, we are talking about going up separately, or in groups, riding BRAG next year. Only idiots would ride in that bus more than once. I should know, since I did it twice. 😀
Big no to the BRAG bus, did it once and never have to do it again. However, we are considering using them for logistics. Franklin usually gets good spots and they can carry our tents and stuff.
we are considering at least a couple days – I think it will go close to Cedar Rapids next year. I don’t think I want to do an entire week (its been HOT this week up there)
Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes. I’ve just awakened from my (first?) post-ride nap. Hahaha
Glad the weather held and hope it was a good ride. Now perhaps a celebratory beverage??
It was tough, but fantastic.
The Asheville area offers many options for celebration, I’m currently planning my strategy.
