Since the TdF is now over, and it will be another year before I whine about not getting the commercial free feed on Peacock, that pretty much leaves Premier League soccer as my only reason not to cancel Peacock. Sure, there are other shows I watch, but I could probably live without them, or find other ways to watch them.

  1. Once again as I went to walk into Wee Little Farm a pair of large, brown wings soared to another tree. I hope that I can someday figure out how to tell when one of my owl or hawk friends is out looking for breakfast.

    Wordle in 5.

How is it Monday already? Saturday was breakfast at WH, a stop at NAPA to pickup a fuel filter for the tractor, and I decided to stop at the Harley dealer to see if the bike I was interested in was still there. As I pulled in, the salesman was just riding it out. A 2012 R1200GS (off road sort). We chatted for a minute and I decided to ride it later. I returned on my bike and took it for a spin. A bit taller than my bike, nice acceleration, but doesn’t have the top end mine does. I thanked them and asked them to keep me in mind for any others. They say they get lots in trade.

My tractor is sick. As I got off to open the gate after mowing, hydraulic fluid was pouring out. I got Debbie to tow me to the shop, where I found a small piece of hose had ruptured. Easy fix, right? 4 different shops did not have anything big enough. And I thought I had lucked out when I found a hydraulic shop open 24 hours it Tyrone. They weren’t even open on Saturday! Thanks Google. More news later.

Sunday, 18 on the gravel bike. I wasn’t really feeling it. TdF and little else.

And in reading the stage results and whatnot from Saturday’s TdF, I noticed a penalty assessed to the driver of Com 1 and the technical director!! Apparently, he chose a poor spot to make a pass as he was trying to get back to the main peloton and some riders were annoyed. We think the only reason a penalty was assessed was the pass made it on some of the TV coverage. I know it was a really chilly ride in that car yesterday.

    busy weekend –

Saturday we rode at Allatoona Creek with Bob (& his new E Bike) and Laura ran I think 12 miles while we rode – that girl is CRAZY in that heat.
Made it to the end of the Atlanta hash Christmas in July at Breaststroke’s pool – good crowd, but dang the hash is aging…….. 😉

Sunday did a walkabout in Kennesaw, lunch at Culvers – thanks to Stacy – I learned that the kids meal isn’t all that small, and you get a free scoop of ice cream!

Parrothead anniversary party in the afternoon at The Wing – it was warm in the patio, but at least they have a decent amount of fans.

I am back from Florida and back to work, although I am remote today. Today is the last day I can work remotely as my boss returns from Germany tomorrow. I kept up with all my emails so it’s actually not overwhelming.

Had a great time on Amelia Island, a little bit too much of a good time. This week will be all about recovery.

When I got home I inspected the fridge and discovered a bunch of veggies that were about to need to be thrown out, so yesterday I made them into a soup. I also made a risotto with onions, cheese, ground beef, and the freshest of the veggies.

    • Perhaps the biggest benefit of WLF is that I never throw out food, I compost it. Okay, compost is just a fancy way of throwing out, but at least it will be turned into soil used in WLF. *shrug*

Sometimes I bring in food to work that I can’t bring myself to throw out and put it in the compost. It makes me feel better!

    • Barb says:

I don’t think I’ve ever had risotto with ground beef – sounds interesting & good!

      • Jenka says:

It was very good, I used part of the Omaha Steaks order that I’m trying to clear out of the freezer. Part of the order was 4 burgers so I used two in the soup and two in the risotto.

  7. Unfortunately, the squirrel who was dying on my driveway when I left the house was dead when I returned. Maybe for me it wasn’t unfortunate, since I didn’t have to kill it. I deposited its dead body in a portion of land beyond WLF. I may have a hatred toward the critters who consume my crops, but I am still empathetic when they die.

    • I had grand plans for an entire day running around, taking care of errands. However, my body said “No, no, hell no!” and forced me to return to the ITP Estate early.

      • Steve says:

        Even squirrels deserve respect.

As I was leaving for my ride yesterday, I saw a chipmunk run across the road. I’ve never understood why, but we don’t see many of them down here. Too many hawks? No telling.
