Jenka, how was your Friday?

Three days in South Carolina; two failed days of bike riding, one in Clemson and one in Anderson, sandwiching one really good day at a mushroom cultivation workshop in Easley.

My mysterious deep hip pain returned this weekend. It had gone away for about a year.

    Wordle in 4.

After Friday’s ride, there was no more “exercise” for the weekend. I started to clear the road frontage of volunteer trees and other crap growing along the bank. 4 hours on Saturday and 3 hours on Sunday and I’m about halfway done. I would like to get back to being able to mow that area, but it may need a ground cover that isn’t mowable.

We finished watching “Yellowstone”- we had tried to get started when the last season was released, but never got traction. Good to the last beat down, fist fight and trip to the train station.

  2. Oh yeah. There is one team with a worse record than Atlanta United in the east, Montreal, and Atlanta could do no better than to eke out a draw against them on Saturday night. #J-E-T-S (Just End The Season)

Speaking of the Jets, they CRUSHED Green Bay on Saturday night! Super Bowl Bound!!! 😀

And how about the ending for the Falcons game? Did they run out the clock with the prayer circle, or have to snap again at the 2 minute warning?

      • Completely missed/ignored the Falcons game. I actually didn’t see much of the Jets/Packers game, I passed out in my hotel room around 8:30pm. I’m living large!

I was sitting at the bar at Six Feet Under when the game was on. I didn’t see the Lions player get his head snapped back when it hit a Falcon player’s knee, but I could tell whatever happened was bad because they drove the Grady ambulance out to the 50 yard line. The player was apparently back in training 2 days later, so he’s a very lucky person. Once they cleared the field, the Falcons snapped the ball, but both teams collectively let the clock run out. It was a deeply unsettling experience to watch unfold.

We were watching at home and I agree, the feeling about the whole thing was very unsettling. I was glad when they suspended the game.

We didn’t get the lockdown message until 5:00 pm on Friday and I was cursing myself for my work ethic. Should have knocked off early! Most other people did so there were very few people on campus. My building is way far away from the action, at least a mile. They let us go about 6:45 and after I got home and changed we just went to Fellini’s for dinner. Honestly, the worst part about my day was that I had to drink shitty Chardonnay at Fellini’s.

Otherwise the only thing I did this weekend is get mani-pedis and watched a lot of sports. It was truly amazing to watch the first female umpire in MLB history work the Braves series this weekend. She was behind home plate yesterday and I teared up watching it.

Allan got called out there & didn’t have to do anything – and the way all the cops/etc parked – he was STUCK for way too long after he was good to leave.
Did you hear, they are saying the guy said the Covid VACCINE is why he did it.
Just what we don’t need in the news – especially with RFK JR saying mRNA in bad.

      • Jenka says:

Yes, he said the Covid vaccine messed him up somehow. Does he not know that the CDC did not create the vaccine?! And now a police officer is dead. Ugh.

    • Steve says:

Everyone was saying what a great milestone it was and all I could think was why did it take so f’ing long?

Friday night I decided to be anti-social & skip the Slutty Soco basically in the neighborhood. Binge watched The Hunting Wives on Netflix, a horrible but entertaining show.

Saturday walked about 4 miles with a friend (Mindy) , then went out late afternoon with Kristina, she was up in Marietta.

Sunday morning, we rode the NON E bikes on the Noonday Creek / Mountain to River train – it was 10 miles down to the Marietta Square, had some brunch, then rode back. No E on the hills kind of sucked – made me appreciate the new bike.

    • David says:

You got me there…I was wondering what the hell a “NON E bike” was (as if NON was a brand or something), and realized you and Allan decided to knock the rust off of your pennyfarthings. 😉

  5. Because they were starting to rot in the basement, I just dropped about ten small red potatoes into the ground in hopes of getting some winter potatoes this year.

  6. Barb says:

    its POURING here in Marietta.

  7. Steve says:

    We have intermittent sun.
