My Most Controversial Blog Post Of The Season!

Earlier this summer TV executives pulled the plug on Pirate Master, leaving dedicated viewers like myself out to dry. Last night I turned the tables and cashed in my chips for Big Brother 8. Top Chef take notice because after this week’s episode you are on probation.

Wha Wha What?
[Warning: My Last Big Brother 8 spoiler follows]

I have not liked the people in the house for some time, nor have I cared for America’s Player since the concept was hatched.

Erectile Dicksfunction is like the abusive father that I never had. Watching his antics and abusive nature made me cringe every week. It was with great anticipation that I watched last night to see his ass get tossed from the game. But then America stepped in and told their pawn to 86 Dustin. The final straw occurred when Dicklet’s spawn won HoH.

The thought of watching those two gloat and swell with powerful pride (sorry ED I don’t think that you caused the greatest coup in the game’s history) has forced me to throw in the towel.

On the brighter side I have regained no fewer than three hours a week so I should be able to do more things with my life.

Two Strikes Chef
Listen up Top Chef…

Earlier this season you inserted a fucking filler episode where you did some panel discussion nonsense. This week you came to the conclusion that the contestants battled to tie and should have a do-over?

Since I’ve got you programmed in to my Top 5 let me get out my T-Mobile phone and call your ass which is probably cramming Cold Stone Creamery ice cream into Glad containers in the whoever-the-appliance-whore-is kitchen. Cut this shot out.

Sometimes I feel like my life is broken like this bottle.

Tecate -- Served In Unbreakable Cans

I want to have more days where I feel like the can.

Windows Update Brings My iTunes Down
The timing was unfortunate, but in the end I am sure that it will make me stronger.

After Microsoft’s Patch Tuesday my machine rebooted itself. When I launched iTunes I was somewhat surprised that it looked like it had re-installed itself. While initially everything looked normal I quickly started to realize that all of my Preference modifications were gone, destroying the organizational hierarchy that I had put in place.

This weekend I hope to find the time to transition all of my data onto a network-attached drive that I bought last week.

And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…
Current Mood – frustrated
Current Music – Sirius Satellite Radio, Channel 26 playing Elliott Smith — “Independence Day”
Website Of The Day – Keep hearing the phrase “Web 2.0” but have no idea what people are talking about? Check out Go 2 Web 2.0 to get clued in.
Exercise (b)Log – none
Monthly Mileage – 7 miles
Mode Of Transportation To Work – My car

August Goals
1) Get my first Ruby / Ruby on Rails program written
3) Lose 5 pounds (if at first, second, third, fourth, you don’t succeed….)

hey- I watched one episode of Pirate Master online so far, it only had 3 or 4 commericals, that were maybe 5 seconds long. it took about 40ish minutes. I just don’t like sitting at a computer to watch TV…… but I wil finish that series, if they don’t pull it offline anytime soon.

I’m glad I wasn’t coerced over to the dark side by Stacy for Big Brother, I’d have hated for this to be my first season of watching it.

  2. Stacy says:

*laugh!* I will have to work on that coercing thing in the future, Barb! Despite Paulie’s frustration, there are still makings there for some interesting things to happen.

Paulie – sorry you’ll be leaving the house, so to speak. You know how I feel about the Dick and Dicklet, too, but I’m way too much into this now not to see how it plays out. I want Jen to bust out and become brilliant. (Yup, I’m getting delusional in my old age too.)

And, wait: I’m confused. You want to feel Mexican? 😉

  3. Gentri says:

Nah, he just wants to feel up a little Mexican… with her permission, of course!!!! 😉

What about trying giving the system restore feature a shot? Might get you back to where you can get your settings for Itunes backed up before installing the new patches again?????

  4. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

While I will miss BB I will enjoy having the time back.

System restore won’t help. I needed whatever patches were downloaded. I will use this disruption to my benefit.
