Oh boy, yet another hectic day is scheduled today.
Slide Into My Belly!
I made it down to The Shed last night for $3 Slider Night and to my pleasure ITP-Reader Jenka and her husband were sitting at the bar and allowed me to join them in dinner. After consuming a New Belgium Ranger IPA I placed an order for two sliders — one Fried Green Tomato with Goat Cheese, and one Suckling Pig with Mushroom Confit — both were incredibly tasty. Of course the second Ranger IPA didn’t hurt either.
Even with my desire to cook more at home I can see myself working a return to The Shed for Slider Night in the future.
ITP Flickr Pic
I took a photo of one of the sliders I consumed last night. My photo was horrible. So, this is a (fair) photo of the lunch I have percolating in my cubicle currently.
Take one chicken which is almost too large to put into a large crockpot; decide to cut the chicken into parts so that it can fit into the crockpot along with the vegetables you want to cook; season the chicken; add some white wine; add vegetables some time during the cooking process; cook until chicken is done.
Another Night Of Laundry
Even though tonight offers some great opportunities for fun I need to do laundry tonight as it’s the only opportunity I’ll have in the coming days. Considering that yesterday’s lunch was eaten at Las Tortals Locas I assume that tonight’s lavanderia of choice will be the one next to Lee’s Bakery. Who knows, I’ll probably head into the little Latin grocery store and see what sort of specialties I can pick up for my future home cooking.
Oh, Sweet!
Today’s Scoutmob deal is for Majestic Diner! If you’ve been paying attention this week you’ll know why this pleases me greatly.
Apple, Is It Really Asking Too Much For iTunes To Work Properly?
I’ve been growing upset with the state software these days. Last night another chapter was added. After purchasing and downloading an album from Amazon I expected to be able to find it in iTunes as I’ve done many times before. However, according to the library listing there is no indication that the music made it into my iTunes library. I saw the music listed in iTunes “Recently Added” playlist, but not in the main library. Nothing I did to try and add the music so that it would show up in iTunes worked. C’mon Apple, managing music is iTunes’ primary purpose!

I have to ask – why do you have beans on the top of the crockpot?
Tasty China ended up being a bigger crowd that I was expecting, Bob & Dean were expected, but Peter (aka GE) joined us, as well 2 folks that Dean picked up somewhere.
And – we are all proud to say, Bob did NOT order the sesame chicken!
Oops, I explained the beans in the photo’s description on Flickr, but forgot to do so here. The contents of the pot were so plentiful that the lid had a hard time staying “put”. I decided to use the bag of beans as a dead weight to keep the crockpot sealed and its heat contained within.
Sounds like Tasty China was a blast. Was the food as good as in the past? (Sorry, that was an unintentional rhyme). Good on ya, Bob!
My dad was a Vietnam Vet, he never talked about it. I think a lot of men from that war kept what happened to themselves. He was in the Navy, on submarines…so I had assumed he didn’t see much actions. It wasn’t until after he died I heard about some of the stuff that he went through. Scary stuff.
I really don’t have much planned for today. I was going to ‘work from home’ since this isn’t a paid holiday for my company. Work is so slow right now I couldn’t even be bothered to pretend…so I’m taking a floating holiday today and comp time tomorrow. CBT and I will be heading to Columbus sometime in the early afternoon tomorrow.
I was going to tell you about the Scoutmob as soon as I saw it! You know, you can get more than one using multiple email addresses…
My dad was in the Air Force in the Korean War. He never talked about it much, and I guess I never really asked. I’ll have to call him today.
Food was very good last night, we had a plethora of different things. Allan said his boiled fish in the hot chili oil was hotter than ever. Peter ordered some fried duck dish, very interesting. We ordered a little too much, but that way everyone got to take home some leftovers.
You have a crock pot in your cube? I don’t even want to think about what would happen if I tried that at my office.
Tasty China was very tasty, I like being able to sample everybody’s dinners. And yes, I was able to stray away from american Chinese food.
Vic, I think you can reuse the same coupon on multiple devices too. I think I can call up the deal on my iPad even when I’ve used it on my iPhone.
Bob, I have two crockpots in my cube at the moment. 🙂 One I keep here and the other I brought in filled with chicken this morning. I don’t use them often but when I do I enjoy torturing my cube neighbors with fantastic aromas.
Wow is it nice outside. I just walked around to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to pick up some utensils I forgot at home this morning.
I did not want to return to the office, and if the stunning (and unfortunately married) redhead who was in line ahead of me had asked me to run away with her I might not have. 😉
Crockpot is about ready to be deployed. I really wish that I were a lot hungrier than I am — that is to say I’m not really hungry at all. 🙁
It is just wonderful outside…you will have a great weekend for camping. I did a lot of laundry today and was able to hang some of it outside to dry. Just the really heavy stuff, blankets, towels, etc., stuff that take a long time in the dryer.
I’d take a nap but the meter reader is out and about, which means every dog in the ‘hood is barking his or her’s god damn head off….
That would be interesting to know for sure. I thought that once the code was used, you couldn’t use it again…
I’ll try it and let you know, Vic.
